Creamy Butternut Squash With Cinnamon Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2009
Very tasty! I decided to add a Pear choped up in it since I didn't have any Apples on hand. I didn't have cloves either. Seems to be an easy recipe even for a mom with a 7 month old.

Crispy and Creamy Doughnuts

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2012
Absolutely perfect! tasted just like you know who's doughnuts! Oh, we did realize we didn't have eggs and had to use 4 teaspoons baking powder, four teaspoons water and 2 tablespoons of oil in place of the two eggs, but still absolutely incredible to my pregnant belly! Thank you! Oh PS don't worry when the glaze looks kinda thick. at 4 Tb of water it was perfect for the first doughnuts we did it with, but sadly I panicked and kept adding more water till I ruined the rest of the doughnuts with runny glaze. I mean it tasted good still, but more like store bought doughnuts instead of the heavenly doughnuts the first couple were. :o(

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2012
I've probably made this 10 times now in just the past year. It's wonderful for breakfast freezer meals! I made half a batch the first time and really regretted it. Our family of 4 eaters ate all four loves probably in two weeks. I recommend making it all and slicing it then freezing whatever you can before it's gone! Going to make a batch now with my 3 and 2 year old girls while the 5 month old takes nap!

Best Pennsylvania Dutch Chicken Corn Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2012
My mom side is from Lancaster County, PA and we've grown up on this soup. A few tips to help the process go faster. You can cook the chicken (I'm using chicken breasts) on a skillet and either shred or cut into small pieces and then add it to the soup so you don't have to do all that fat skimming. Cuts some time out. Then just add the chicken to the rest of the soup. Also for making the rivols (flour egg mixture) you can use a fork to scoop a little out at a time and drop it into the soup. This method makes them not so thick and huge. I like them more bite sized, but that is a preference.
