Refried Beans Without the Refry

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
I have made this recipe several times now and my family just loves it. I use less salt and add a ham bone, amazing taste. I also add more water and cook on low for 10 hours. Perfect every time. I make bean and cheese burritos or Indian tacos out of this.

Juicy Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2008
I bought a whole chicken because they were on sale-usually I end up naming them and they live in my freezer until I have to trash them. I tried this recipe because of the short list of ingredients and it was amazing!! If you want to make a simple meal into something special this is the one. I had to cook the chicken for 1 hr.and 50 min to hit the proper temperature (my bird was a little bigger.) If you use a meat thermometer, this wont be a problem.

Candied Apples III

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2008
I made these for Halloween and they turned out so pretty. I was able to coat 5 big apples.I spread butter on the wax paper before setting the apples on it, no problem with sticking. Great recipe.

Cake Balls

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2008
I took these to a party at a friend's house. I used white cake and creamcheese frosting and chocolate almond bark. They were gone in a few minutes. The guys really loved them. I made the cakeballs 3 days before the party and froze them. Before I coated them, I put a toothpick into each ball. This made them a lot easier to dip. You can remove the toothpick and cover the little hole with additional almond bark of a different color. Use a fork to drizzle the bark-makes them look very pretty.

Party Punch IX

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2008
I have made this punch twice now. Everyone loves it. It is like a slush until it melts all the way. I have made the base 3 days ahead,so it is also a timesaver. Little tip, if you use berryblue jello- the end result is a pretty green-blue color.
