I have become an amazing cook! I have come a long way in the last 17 years I have been married. When I first started I couldn't even whip cream for a cake. Instead I made butter and didn't even know it.
I come from a long line of gourmet cooks, starting with my grandmother. My mother is an amazing cook, as is my two sisters and one of them became a professional chef.
Cookinf relaxes me and is a great way for me to connect to family and friends.
My favorite things to cook
I have some fabulous chicken recipes and one of my families favorites is the mexican ground beef pie I make. I make the best rhubarb crisp around and my cheddar cheese apple pie is good too. I lived in Sweden with my family for quite a few years and became a good cook with wild game.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My husband and I do alot of Scandinavian baked goods during the holidays and I use most of my grandma Stahl's recipes that she passed on to my mother. I always make a sweet potato casserol during the holidays with real sweet potatoes, not caned and no marshmallows.
My cooking triumphs
Impressing my dad is ALWAYS a triumph because he is so picky! Also trying to please my twelve year old is a challenge so when she really likes something then it is cause to celebrate!
My cooking tragedies
My bunt cake will forever more be known as a butt cake. The company and I were mortified to see when I flipped the cake over that the inside did not cook and batter ran all over the place! Not what we were expecting for afternoon coffee!
