Roasted Garlic Cauliflower

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2010
This is incredible! I'm not a big cauliflower fan but wanted to add something different to Thanksgiving this year and it was a hit - my brother abhors cauliflower and he ate most of it. I used 2 bags of frozen cauliflower, added extra garlic, and doubled the parm. This will be a regular veggie in our house. Thanks for sharing.

Pumpkin Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2010
I was really hoping to like this but I didn't. Sounded delicious but there was definitely something missing - so I tried adding ingredients (garlic powder, onion powder, beans, corn, more chili powder, you name it), which helped, but still not great. My husband did enjoy it, but I won't be saving this recipe.

Favorite Old Fashioned Gingerbread

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2010
The best gingerbread I've ever had, hands down. Only change I made was to add half a cup of apple sauce.

Beer Cheese Soup V

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2010
Delicious! Rich and creamy = exactly what I was looking for to fulfill my craving. Plus it couldn't have been any easier to make. My changes: I went with suggestions from others and ended up using 2 cans of broth, I only had mild cheddar so I used that instead of the varieties, didn't blend it, and used about half a bottle of hefe-weizen (if I used more it would've been TOO beer-y, but then I'm not much of a beer fan). Served it with Il Fornaio frozen rolls. Perfect soup for a cozy fall day, look forward to making it again. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe.

Sangria! Sangria!

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2009
CRAZY good! I've made this many times over the past year or two and anytime I bring it to a party, bbq, whatever there is never any left and I always get requests for the recipe. I use cheap red wine (usually Trader Joe's 2-buck-chuck merlot) and usually use a peach or apricot brandy, and in a pinch I've used peach schnapps in lieu of the triple sec (hey, whatever works, right?!), and aside from the listed fruit I'll also throw in oranges, frozen or fresh strawberries, basically just whatever I have on hand. It's worth the ingredients and the time it takes for the flavors to blend. Yummy-yum-yum!!!!!!

Simple Ranch Chicken Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2009
This is a good basic/easy recipe for mac. salad. My 3 y/o daughter really liked it, and she's not a ranch dressing fan. I think it needed a bit of a different flavor so I added some chopped onion. Probably wouldn't bother with the olives next time 'cos I didn't feel they really contributed much to it - or maybe I didn't like the flavor of them, which is wierd 'cos I DO like olives.

Chicken with Lemon-Caper Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2009
This is an absolute keeper! Tasty AND easy! I've tried a lot of chicken w/lemon-caper-white wine sauce variations but this is hands down the best. I really appreciate the fact that it requires only a handful of basic ingredients. The only things I did a bit differently was to pound out the chicken a bit and increase the amount of sauce. This is one of those entrees that you can serve to guests in the blink of an eye - it would be VERY difficult to mess this one up.

Louisiana Crab Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2008
Couldn't be any better - this was an easy and flavorful dip. All of my guests commented on how good it was - there were a couple who were eating it with a fork, like it was a salad or something. The only thing I altered was to add a bit more horseradish to kick it up a notch. Anyway, thank you very much for sharing this recipe.

Pumpkin and Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2008
Everyon LOVED it! I took other reviewer's suggestions and used less broth (I ended up using a little over 6 C) to thicken it a little bit and maple syrup in lieu of the liquer. I also substituted Jimmy Dean sage sausage 'cos a couple of my guests do not like spicy food so I decided not to risk the andouille. Still it was a very flavorful soup, but it is filling! I plan to serve this as an appetizer for Thanksgiving but will be only serving it in small increments.

Spicy Garlic Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2008
This is excellent! Very flavorful. I tripled the sauce as the recipe didn't seem like enough for 4 breasts, and I added a little bit of chicken stock too. Next time I'm going to pound out the chicken for cooking time, too.

Brisket with Cranberry Gravy

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2008
I was surprised at how good this was! I thought it'd be good but not this good. I'm not a fan of sweet sauce with meat (unless it's chinese!) but this was delicious. I added just under 1/4 c of sugar to the sauce. I also rubbed the meat with some spicy steak rub so it gave the sauce a little zing. This recipe is definitely a keeper, delicious and super easy.

Chocolate Banana Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2007
I can't get over how good this pie is! And it's soooo easy. I made one on Weds for Thanksgiving dinner yesterday and everyone was raving about it; needless to say there were no leftovers. I followed the other reviewers suggestions and didn't put whip on top until just prior to serving. Also used already prepared belgian chocolate pudding instead of the boxed kind. This will be a staple in my dessert recipe collection.

Love how easy and quick this is. I used whipped cream cheese and it turned out wonderfully. Had several people ask me for the recipe.

Banana Fritters

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2007
Tried this, adding an addt'l banana, 2 more Tbsp of sugar, and piped it into the vs. dropping with a spoon. They turned out okay, had to cook in oil little longer than I'd have expected thus making them a bit greasy. Still, it's a good basic recipe when you're in the mood for something like this, it's very easy to make.

Tortilla Ham Pinwheels

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2007
SOOOOO easy, quick, and delicious! Ideal for serving at a casual gathering or bringing to a potluck, etc. I brought them to a friend's party and there wasn't a single one left. Plus they're cheap to make, and they're much tastier than the store bought ones. Next time I will probably use about 1/2 of the italian dressing, as it was a bit rich. Also can't wait to try ranch and turkey as well. Thanks for this recipe, I'll be using it many, many times.

Slow-Cooker Barbecue Ribs

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2007
I've made these a few times and still can't get over how good and how easy they are. I also did the substitution of bbq sauce for the ketchup, etc. Other than that I wouldn't change a thing!

Old-Time Popcorn Balls

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2007
These are yummy!! They taste just like caramel corn. It's the only recipe I could track down for popcorn balls that didn't use corn syrup. I was a bit hesitant since molasses has a strong and distinctive taste but by the time the syrup was done and ready to use the taste was significantly mellowed. I plan to make many more batches of these over the holiday season. Thanks for sharing this great recipe!
