Sour Cream Apple Pie Deluxe

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2008
This is such a great pie recipe. My only problem is that it disappears before I get to eat my share! A couple of calories and fat can be trimmed with reduced fat sour cream. Like many others, I reduced the sugar to one half cup, and added a sprinkle of nutmeg to the topping. Total baking time of one hour is needed....just follow the directions and add keep it in the oven for the extra time.

Rich Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2007
A very delicious, easy, and creamy frosting!. I made one fourth the batch, and had leftovers for other baking projects. I'm very happy to find a nice recipe with cocoa powder, as I do not like the flavor of baking chocolate.

Awesome Ham Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2008
I had to try this recipe as so many people wrote about it. As I had been to the store twice already, and I forgot to put all the ingredients on my list, I had to make due with what I had on hand. I cleaned out my pantry of partial boxes of pasta to yield one pound. I used dill gerkins, sweet relish, and dill pickle juice. To keep it in line with the recipe, I also added a spoon of sugar to tame the dill. My other major sub was to use a dry Knorr's Au Jus Sauce packet for the beef flavoring. As I expected, the dish turned out to be great.....you can make it with just about anything you have on had. Five Stars.

Blueberry Crumb Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2008
I chose this recipe for my first attempt to bake a blueberry pie. I followed it exactly as written, with the addition of 1 Tbls corn starch as suggested. The pie turned out perfect and delicious. As with any fruit pie, be sure to taste your fruit, and adjust the sugar accordingly.

Jewish Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2008
Great cake! I took the cake batter and gently folded in 2 cups of blueberries, followed by a light brown sugar topping on the top of cake. I checked the cake after 40 minutes....and decided it needed 5 more minutes, as many other people have suggested. Since I added fruit to the batter, I left it as written, as I wanted a stiffer cake batter. Superb! As with any cake, overworking the batter will develop the gluten in the flour, resulting in a dry cake.

Veggie Beef Bundles

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
Great idea to make ground beef a different meal. After steeping the soup mix in a covered bowl, I stirred two thirds of soup into the potatoes plus 1 tablespoon of olive oil. The remainder went into the mushroom mixture. Very tasty and easy to assemble.

Creamy Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: May 1, 2009
Great frosting! Instead of opening a can of milk, I took one cup of milk, and reduced it on the stove with 1.5T of instant coffee powder. After reducing the coffee/milk, I strained it, cooled it, followed the recipe, and enjoyed a supurb frosting.

I have used this style of recipe for baked chicken nuggets (or fingers!). Very nice.

Ranch Dressing II

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2008
This is a very good dressing. Like many others, I found it mild. Some reviewers commented that a touch of vinegar was a good tweak to this recipe. I tried that, but the flavor was unbalanced. To salvage the dressing, I added a bit of sugar. Very good result.

Quick Fudge Icing

Like many others, I had run out of confectioners sugar. For perfect results, follow Tracy's review(10-10-2008). The result was smooth, creamy, and delicious!

Sandwich Spread

Reviewed: May 7, 2008
I must agree with Uncle Foxy. Mom made this for 10 years, calling it "Ham Salad". After grinding the bologna, process a quarter of onion and 2 strips of celery through grinder. This makes a good salad.
