About this Cook
I'm a mother of 3 who has always loved cooking. I've recently been making an extra effort to cook almost every meal at home.
My favorite things to cook
Birthday cakes - all kinds! I also love making seafood and anything involving pasta, and I enjoy finding new ways to serve vegetables.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Polish food - My Mom makes fabulous Polish dishes, especially desserts, and my earliest memories are of her making Polish Christmas treats.
My cooking triumphs
I can make a birthday cake that resembles just about anything. I can also tweak a recipe to make it taste just right.
My cooking tragedies
The first cake I ever made was for my husband, back when we were dating. It came out so dry that he could barely cut into it and he choked on his first bite! I've learned a lot since then.

Church-Window Cookies
I love these! My Mom has made this recipe every Christmas, and now I do too. They look pretty on a tray of assorted cookies. Something I do to make it easier to shape them into logs is to use empty aluminum foil boxes - the bigger size. I line the boxes with plastic wrap, sprinkle coconut on the wrap, then add the chocolate mixture. Sprinkle with additional coconut, close up the wrap and the box, put them in the fridge to cool, and you're ready to slice!

Sour Cream Pork Chops
These came out tender and tasty. My husband doesn't like his food "excessively spiced," as he calls it, so these were perfect for him. In addition to the salt and pepper, I also sprinkled the chops with some Emeril's Original Essence before dredging and browning to give it a little more punch. I will definitely make this one again!
