Mashed Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2012
The first time I made this exactly as written, the next time I used a packet of ranch dressing and tonight I made it using bacon bits and subbed the cream cheese for shredded cheddar to make 'loaded baked potato'. They are ALL really good. This recipe is very versatile and super easy to make. It doesn't taste like boxed potatoes.

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2011
Best frosting EVER. I had no problems with consistency, but I followed the directions exactly. It's not too sweet and doesn't lose the cream cheese flavor, which is what I prefer.

Pumpkin Bread IV

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2011
I make this every fall, exactly as written. It's super moist and flavorful. You'd think that three loaves are a lot, but with a family of all boys, they go within a few days. Really yummy with a cup of coffee.

Best potato soup i've EVER had. My family gobbled it up.

Honey Limeade

Reviewed: May 31, 2011
Very good. The proportions were perfect for our tastes. It took six medium limes to make a cup of juice. I did make a simple syrup with one cup of the water, then added that. I was worried about grittiness of the sugar. This one's a keeper.

Pasta Sausage Supper

Reviewed: May 2, 2011
Instead of getting this together before dinner, I throw the sausage, sliced pepper and onions in the crockpot on low, and pour a jar of spaghetti sauce over all. The sausage comes out so tender, and all I have to do in the evening is boil some pasta. You add seasoning according to your family's taste. So easy and so good.

Anniversary Chicken I

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2011
I've kept this recipe for a few months without making it, because I was a little leery of the ingredients. I finally made it last night, and it was wonderful. I don't know why, but the ranch and teriyaki just seemed to work together. I will be making this again, although I think i'll marinate the chicken in the teriyaki first.

Tomato Chicken Parmesan

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2011
This is our favorite chicken parmesean recipe! I followed EXACTLY as written. I didn't feel the need to pound the chicken, since i'm baking them in the oven, not trying to cook them thoroughly on the stove. I make this in the morning and then just pop it in the oven for 30 minutes in the evening.

Butter Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2011
I've never been good at making pie crust, so I always buy the pre made ones. I gave this an attempt and it came out perfectly! I don't have to spend $4 on premade ones anymore!

Ten Minute Enchilada Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2011
I make this sauce all the time...and no longer buy the canned kind from the store. Some may argue that it's not 'authentic' sauce, but it works for my family!

This was not good. My kids wouldn't even eat it.

Marshmallow Treats

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2011
Great! FYI: One 12 oz box comes out to a little over 11 cups. I used the whole box, 1 stick of butter, and one whole bag of mini marshmallows. I like mine the old-school way so I didn't add anything extra.

Easy OREO Truffles

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2011
Heaven. I froze the balls for one hour with toothpicks and had NO problem dipping in the chocolate. I put them in the fridge for 15 minutes and had no trouble sliding them right out..makes it very easy to dip. These were gone in one hour. I only got to eat one!

Salmon with Lemon and Dill

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2011
I thought this was just ok. My four and eight year olds loved it, but I eat a lot of salmon, and this just seemed a little bland for my taste. Thanks anyway.

Moist and Savory Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2010
I made this last Thanksgiving and it was bland, bland, bland. My husband liked it, but that's coming from someone who thinks adding pepper is being exotic. I should've followed my gut and gone for something else with more flavor.

Taco Seasoning I

This is my go to recipe--I even use this as chili seasoning, because it's not too spicy for small children. Great balance of seasonings.

Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2010
I made this EXACTLY as written, and it's so good! I don't know how many chili recipes i've tried off this site, but this recipe goes to show that the simplest can be the best! This is the one i'm sticking with from now on.

Very good and very easy. The kids loved it. The only thing I changed was to add more cheese. I'll keep this one on my list of quick dinners.

Butter Roast Chicken

This chicken is wonderful. It's replaced my other recipe, which i've been using for years. I used a whole chicken instead of parts.

Blueberry Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2010
I've been making these the past three years when our zucchini comes in. The ONLY change I make is to make muffins instead, and add a streusal topping. I get about 30 muffins, they bake in 30 minutes. It's the only recipe I use now.
