About this Cook
I am a wife and mother of two. I work full time as a Lab tech in a physicians office
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook good southern food. I also like to cook just about anything for friends and family. I bake a lot of cheese cakes, I love to try new cheesecake recipes!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My husband does the dishes when I cook. This is a new tradition I started on Thanksgiving my oldest son helped me cook.
My cooking triumphs
Learning to love cooking. When I was married to my first husband the first year all we ate was hamburger helper. I hated to cook!
My cooking tragedies
The first time I cooked dinner for then fiance (now husband) I was trying to impress him so I made chicken marsala and was cooking fried apples for dessert to put over ice cream, and totally burned the apples! We have been married for over three years and I have yet to try the fried apples again. He has gotten baked apples, apple crisp, apples just about anyway but fried!

Neat Sloppy Joes
These are the best sloppy joes! There are never any left overs at my house. I use a home made tomato soup base and follow the recipe as written.

Hobo Dinner
I have made something very similar for years, only I make them in indivdual foil pockets and add my favorite bar-b-que sauce on top of everything and cook on the grill. One of my families favorite summertime meals!

Kentucky Bourbon Balls
The first time I made these I made them exactly as the recipe calls for. The second time I used pecans and milk chocolate. I think the milk chocolate smoothed out the flavor and made them just right! I live in Kentucky so I believe in using a GOOD Kentucky bourbon to make these!! I actually use Maker's Mark when I make them, in our house there isn't any other bourbon.
