Strawberry Spinach Salad I

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2015
I invited my friend over for lunch. I asked him if he could have anything for lunch; he replied; Spinach "Salad"...So I searched and found this recipe. I had strawberries that needed to be used. I am so glad I found this. My friend raved and raved about it. I enjoyed it as well. This salad is huge. and it so yummy. My husband who does not usually comment on my cooking efforts actually said how good it is. I followed the recipe as stated. Poppy and Sesame seed are items that I usually do not have on hand. The most expensive part of this salad are those things. However, I have more leftover, and plan on serving this to the food critic (my spouse) tomorrow evening.

Ham Salad II

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2015
I apologize for not posting a picture. This Ham Salad was gone before I had the opportunity. I made the recipe as written. I have thrown Ham Salad before, and was unimpressed. I had a leftover 1/2 pound of BOARS HEAD deli ham that I needed to use. Using the Awesome tool or ALLRECIPES I adjusted the recipe. Now for all those whiners out there who complained up "too much salt", DUH. Even a beginning chef knows you taste as you season. Just because James said to add 2 tsp., ultimately it good to check it out. Ham is different and has varying degrees of saltiness. This recipe is now added to my recipe box....

Ultimate Twice Baked Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2014
I really like this recipe,It is easy and can be quick using potatoes that are already baked. I made a few changes to the prep which knocked off an hour of cooking time. I followed all PONYGIRS64'S ingredients exactly as written. However, I made some short cuts for which I will use in the future. I had potatoes that were leftover from a previous night's dinner. I removed the flesh from the spuds into a microwavable bowl. Then I added the milk, butter, sour cream, cheese, and the salt and pepper. I nuked all of those ingredients until the butter and cheese were melted, and tosed in the green onons... I proceeded with the recipe exactly as written. While the potatoes were baking I zapped the bacon in my microwave for 5 minutes. (since microwaves differ adjust to your microwave)...I had time to crumble the now cooled bacon to garnish along with the cheese and green onion. I will make this recipe on a regular basis, keeping in mind to bake extra potatoes ahead of time. My family loved them. This recipe is a definite keeper.

S'More Bars II

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2013
Thank You Whistle2000 for sharing this. I took them to a meeting and they were gone almost instantly. I had 3 S'more kits in Que from the summer.I needed to use them before the graham crackers went stale. The kit included full size marshmallows, packs of graham crackers and of course HERSHEY bars. I appreciated that the crust used the actual measurement required instead of "a box of crumbs". I took some reviewers suggestions. 1. Just to use the candy bars whole, w/o worrying about chopping them up. (less time and work), and to broil the marshmallows a quick minute. I made an error which I did remedy. I had the large marshmallows, and was planning on chopping them in the food processor. Please do not laugh at me. Most of you probably know that did NOT work.*G* I used the marshmallows as they were. The recipe states miniatures for good reason. That was not very smart because they did not blend in as they should have. To remedy this, when I took them out of the oven, I took a fork and squished them down. Then I put them back in the oven and broiled them to a toasty golden color. So you can use large marshmallows, but I would suggest taking the time to cut them in small pieces. Of course that comes back to the original recipe. This is why it was written as it is. AND I see no point in substituting margarine for the butter! (this is NOT what the recipe states). The real butter makes it so yummy. I will make this recipe again, and get the tiny marshmallows...

Baked Beans from Scratch

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2012
EXCELLENT RECIPE! This is the 4th time in the past 2months I have made these BAKED BEANS from "scratch". I have added diced uncooked bacon because I like the added flavor. My area food-bank will be getting ALL the "canned bake beaned" in my cupboard. Frankly, I always used to "tweak" canned beans whenever I made them. Not only is this recipe more cost effective than canned but they are oh so much better on the 'YUMMY" FACTOR thanks WKNDYCHEF for taking the time to share this KEEPER of a recipe.

this sounds very intriguing. as somebody who values the opinions of contributors on this site, I am perturbed when a REVIEW is based on nothing, from nobody. This being said I give this 5 stars to counter the 1 from the D***head who had not tried this recipe. Additionally, it seems ez and quick, always a bonus!

Di's Delicious Deluxe Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2011
This classic has been saved in my recipe box! I tripled it for my husband's retirement party, that I was catering. These were the first to go! Recipe was followed as it is. I did cheat and use celery FLAKES and dried minced onion.(these re-hydrated in the mayonnaise. This is a perfect recipe. Thanks Hipps for sharing with us.

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
I made these for a NEW YEARS party. They were gone instantly. Very high raves! I took care to let the mushroom caps dry before stuffing. Too like other members mentioned I added about a 1/4 cup of seasoned bread crumbs. (I used croutons). Too I did add some crab-meat. I am sure that these rock just as written. My one complaint is I only got the one mushroom that I tested. Put a few aside for yourself. Lastly there was a lot of stuffing left over... gotta figure out what to do with it! These are absolutely a "must keep" recipe....yummy!

For the actual BRINING PROCESS I used a PLAYMATE COOLER...tight fit-but got a 20 pound Tom inside! Thanks for pOSTING this---well worth the long wait and little effort.

Mushroom Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2010
trolling the meat department for "mystery meat" (what I call marked down-dinner tonight meat", I happened upon pork chops that had been on sale for 1/2 price, then marked down again. OK-fresh mushrooms were not on sale, so I used canned-- quick, convenient and always better when cost effective. Thanks for posting this oldie, but goodie....

Made exactly except I added 2 more eggs and diced instead of quartered them. This was an entire meal for my husband and me.Actually he had about 3/4 of the salad because he has a big appetite. Of course, this would be an excellent side! One more caveat=it is very easy to prepare...*g*
