Crusty Potato Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2013
I made three loaves of this bread over the weekend, exactly as written except used AP flour instead of bread flour! I put everything in the bread machine and it turned out perfectly! Next time, I'm going to try using the Jules Gluten free flour to make a GF loaf for me! My family loved this bread though....great for mopping up gravy with chicken and noodles, or sliced a little thinner for a sandwich.

Hasselback Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2011
My mom has been making these for as long as I can remember....and I've made them many, many times as well. We call them armadillos in our house! :-) I add a little garlic salt to the butter, and we are very liberal with the grated parm. We also serve with sour cream.....because it makes everything better!

Bourbon Pecan Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2011
Made this the other night and it was SO good! I browned the chicken in my cast iron skillet and transferred to the oven to finish it off. Love the sweetness from the pecans with the slight tart of the dijon mustard. My kids even asked for seconds!!!

Sarah's Applesauce

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2011
I use this basic recipe every year.....we use Lodi apples which are available for a SHORT time in the summer around here. My mom and I do several bushels of apples and freeze the applesauce for the rest of the year. It is great for a quick applecrisp base too! Great BASIC recipe.....different apples obviously yield different tastes and results.

Cheesy Baked Grits

Reviewed: May 8, 2011
The only change I made to this was to add some shredded parm right into the mixture. I never measure cheese, so I just added to taste. I didn't add any eggs.....if you cook it long enough, it isn't needed. I was scraping the pan and licking the spatula after putting in into the oven.......these are SO good! I'm serving with saute of shrimp, tri color peppers and onions. Yum!

Overnight Cinnamon Rolls I

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2011
I made this over the weekend for a group of ladies. I will say I accidentaly used self-rising flour, so mine didn't turn out exactly right. But the dough was easy to work with. Despite my mistake, they tasted great! I made cream cheese icing instead of what it called for, because I didn't have corn syrup on hand. I am actually going to try these again tonight for a work function tomorrow.....but I think I will pay closer attention to the bag of flour I grab! :-)

Tabbouleh I

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2010
I made a variation of this and it is GREAT! I substituted quinoa, to make it gluten free. I made the quinoa according to the package, but changed out 1/4 cup of lemon juice for 1/4 cup of water. I used the tomatoes, parsley, green onoin, cucumber, and added feta cheese. Since quinoa is a good protein this can be a really healthy, light meal.

Bagel and Cheese Dip

Reviewed: May 28, 2010
I make a variation of this for work food days...8oz cream cheese, 1 jar Kraft Old English cheese (usually near the velveeta in the stores) and 1 tsp garlic powder, or to taste. It is always one of the first things to disappear, and people ask for the recipe everytime!
