Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
The texture is always inconsistent for me, which is really unusual...taste fine but requires a bit of tweaking every time with the duration spent in the oven.

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
Good but I wish the cottage cheese bits would blend a bit better...perhaps I should try stirring once when they are baking..

A tad bit much onion but I can deal with it. Very easy to put together and stores well.

Easy Batter Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
So good but make sure you mix the batter well of it will turn out lumpy like mine once did. Otherwise, it's crusty cake on the outside and moist inside with fruit fillings.

Parmesan Knots

VERY good soft chewy parmesan knots - I recommend using FRESH garlic and good quality butter...really picks up the flavour.

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
This was alright...maybe too much cream cheese? Or maybe I am not a big fan of cream cheese...it was too domineering in taste.

Ratatouille

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
Very good...love the parmesan taste! It does get runny though so I drain it near the end and pop it in the oven with the foil cover and comes out nice and steamy.

Sunshine Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
Very very good marinade...finger lickin good but too runny for me because of all the juice that runs down from the chicken and mixes in with the sauce.

Honey Roasted Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
Very good! I get perfectly cooked honey potatoes every time by microwaving the potato cubes for few minutes before putting them in the oven with the sauce.

Amish Macaroni Salad

Good salad - I would cut back on miracle whip (mayo substitute) and sugar too, but it was great!

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2009
Awesome! I used 2 cup sugar, used 1 cup whole wheat flour and 2 cups white flour, and didn't have walnuts to put in...but the little muffins turned out great! I put them in for 20 mins at 350 degrees. They look lovely and taste lovely! People who don't even like zucchinis keep digging these! Thanks for the recipe! :D UPDATE: My boyfriend LOOOOVES these! Made some more with zucchinis from the local farmer's market, coarsely grated with a cheese grater. So good & it looks very very pretty with strips of green zucchinis. I will try to substitute oil with applesauce next time. Thanks!

Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2009
This was pretty good lentil soup, although not the best. I did substitute water with chicken stock and add extra veggies as well as cumin. I was missing basil though, so maybe that does the trick. I'll try making it again. I froze a ziplock bag of it in the freezer and I hope it stays well.

Fried Rice with Cilantro

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2009
I used less oil than the recipe suggested but didn't have any basil on hand. I used grocery-brand sesame oil, and it didn't do great things for the dish, but had I used a good quality sesame oil, it would've been much better. I love cilantro, so I think I must've doubled the amount for that. Even without some ingredients, it was awesome!!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2009
Very easy and great comfort food. Gravy is super. I prefer to use low sodium canned soup because otherwise, it's a bit too salty for my taste. Also, I always pack in the veggies.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2009
I once tasted chocolate chip cookies that look like the pictures but these didn't have the same taste...nonetheless, these were pretty good. I might try making them again and tweaking the recipe a little.
