About this Cook
I have been cooking since I was about 8 years old. As soon as I could look into the pot without a stool!! I didn't really start experimenting until I got engaged(married in '07). Now when I cook I usually don't measure, I just add a bit this and that. Taste it and add more if need be. One thing about my cooking is it has lots of flavor. I love making up my own stuff and/or changing stuff all the time and my husband absolutely loves it! I like any recipe with lots of chopping.I also plan on making a cook book of my recipes with photo's and give them to my daughters and hope they bring the joy of great food to their homes.
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking everything. I like trying new things and experimenting.
My cooking triumphs
I got 3rd place in The International Chili Cook Off!!! & Thanksgiving dinners! We all know how hard that meal is to prepare. I am also in the catering business and have had many people come back for thirds telling me they would eat more if they could! It is a bigger compliment then they realize because they are my recipes. :)
My cooking tragedies
::sigh:: Cheddar and broccoli soup.... Also, I cant bake.... but I'm working on it!!

Grilled Brown Sugar Pork Chops
Absolutely delish! I used fresh ginger and fresh mined garlic. and about 1/2 tsp more of soy sauce. And olive oil works just fine.

Cheesy Ranch Potato Bake
OMG YUM! I'm tellin' you. This was great! Even my husband, who only likes mashed potatoes asked me to make this again. Make sure you cut the potato pieces small. And I used a little more chili powder, added some garlic powder, and only used about 3 tbs of butter (that i also cut into small cubes and spread evenly over the potatoes. Then i mixed the cheese and ranch together and just put on top of the potatoes, and put back in the oven on broil to give the cheese a little golden color.

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs
Delicious!! I pretty much followed the recipe as written. I added about 1 tsp of garlic powder and only used 1 tsp of salt. Don't forget the sugar! (I would reccomend you marinate it for at least an hour) -I made this with the Cheesy Ranch Potato Bake on this site, with peas. Yummm
