Chewy Coconut Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2011
I made these for a cookie exchange and they were a huge hit. They are the perfect balance of buttery and chewy with just the right amount of coconut. LOVE them as they are with no tweaks to the recipe!

Chocolate Decadence Cake I

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2010
I really liked this cake but I had a very hard time telling when it was done cooking. I left it in for 50 mins and it was still quite liquid in the center. I kept baking at 10 min increments until I got to 2 hrs. total and had to cover the top with foil to prevent burning. I finally gave up and tossed it in the fridge (still incredibly wet in the center). It was very nice after a night in the fridge and sliced well. I guess it just needs to set before it solidifies. Now that I know what to look for, I will definetly make this again. The taste and texture is fantastic!

Country Green Beans

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
I substituted low sodium chicken broth for the water and bacon for the ham. Turned out perfect! Thanks so much for a non-boring way to eat green beans : )

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2009
Very good banana bread- the only tweak I made was that like a lot of other reviewers, I mashed the bananas instead of slicing them- I personally don't like chunks of fruit in my bread. Otherwise I followed the recipe exactly and it was great!

Garlic and Onion Burgers

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2009
I made these for a cookout last summer and now that it is getting warm again, my friends have been requesting these. They are super easy to make, just make sure to follow the suggestion about chilling them for a few hours prior to cooking them- it really enhances the flavor.

Orange Cream Cake IV

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2009
I made this for an Easter celebration at work and it went over really well. It was very refreshing and the frosting is just perfect to top off the orange cake. I made it exactly to recipe and it came out perfectly- wouldn't change a thing about it. I will certainly be making this again!

Smothered Filet Mignon

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2008
simple, fast and extremely good. I started out using filet mignon for this recipe and quickly learned that it tastes just as good with pretty much any cut of beef.

Savory Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2008
I had always used my mother's recipe for deviled eggs until I came across this one. The dill in the filling is genius- the perfect flavor compliment to the eggs. These are always the first to go at get-togethers and church functions now. Thanks!

Easy Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2008
I made this for a Christmas dessert and it was a hit. I doubled the recipe and cooked it in a cast iron dutch oven, it came out beautifully and had lots of the "goo" in it that tastes so good.
