Heavenly White Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2008
SOOOO GOOD!!!!! light and fluffy, not overpoweringly sweet, perfect for cupcakes too! One tip, make certain you beat the eggs till at least soft peak form, if you don't the cake will poof down and loose all the air bubbles as soon as it's out of the oven. When I first tried this recipe the eggs were old and were taking a while to beat so I just didn't bother beating them all the way. MAKE SURE YOU DO!!! ***i always use Fluffy White Frosting with this cake, goes very nicely, like eating a cloud :D

Vegan Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2007
oh wow, these are AMAZING! i just turned vegan and was seriously craving chocolate so i made these and they were perfect for the job :D but, i like to make things a bit healthier than the origina recipe, so even though they were awsome tasting the first time, i tweeked the ingredients to make it better. FIRST; do half whole wheat flour and half normal, i wouldn't suggest too much more or you will compromise the soft texture. Next, do half brown, half white sugars. And lastly, add 1/2 cup vegetable oil and about 2/3 cup UNsweetened applesauce. great recipe, doubles very well!

Old-Fashioned Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2007
Oh wow! this fudge was amazing! I made it for my sister who was wanting fudge (craving really, but anyways) and my entire family loved it, even my boyfriend who doesn't normally like fudge! I did have some trouble though; I couldn't get it to reach soft ball stage (likely because my stove is old and enreliable) so I periodically raised the heat, slowly, till it tested done. I waited for it to cool to 120 degrees F then I beat the butter and vanilla into it with a wooden spoon. Poured into pan and pressed down flat with hands and wax paper. Extremely good recipe, will make again!

Karen's Baked Banana Stuffed French Toast

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2007
This recipe was absolutely amazing! I made it this morning for my boyfriend and myself and it tasted great. My mother looked quite skeptic about it so I just made her normal french toast. *Just a warning to any who try his recipe; first, do not add any more eggs to the mix as it will take too long to cook (meaning extra oven-time) and second, soak the sandwich for no more than 45 seconds as it will turn to mush and soak up way too much (further increasing the oven-time). One last thing, I attempted to slice the bananas finely and layer them in the sandwich, it would have been MUCH easier to just mash them as directed, that way you don't see all the banana juices leaking out as well. great recipe!
