About this Cook
I love to try new recipes. I will make a new recipe then adapt it, maybe even change most of it.
My favorite things to cook
soup, chicken, cake, and desserts. My husband is lactose intolerant and the pill does not not work for him. He can eat yogurt but not any cheese, milk, ice cream. He use to love casseroles but most of them have either cheese and/or milk.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My tradition are mostly inedible for my husband which is sad. My daughter makes this cream corn with cream and Parmesan cheese. Unfortunately, it is full of lactose.
My cooking triumphs
I cook Salmon for my husband (sometimes) which I hate! I made wedding cakes for some people at work, my mothers, my daughters, mine, and now I am done with wedding cakes, I am too old.
My cooking tragedies
I usually try to fix any thing I messed up. Once I tried to fill a cake in several very very thin layers but it slide during transport. I stopped by my mothers so I got a pretty bowl dumped it in and put whipped cream on top. When I got to work I just said I made a bowl cake. People would ask for a bowl cake for their birthdays. But I do not broil anymore without a timer. I set the bread on fire once.

Crispy Roasted Chicken
Spices were off I think it needs more paprika. Also, cooking was off too. It's hard to get the whole chicken done uniformly. Take out at 160 as it cooks out of the oven. It was over done.

Date Cake
I added burbon to the cake and about 1/2 cup of oatmeal. Then I added burbon to the topping. I liked the cake but it was even better with the burbon. Oh, I used 3/4 cup of raisins - golden.
