The basic recipe is great so I gave this 5 stars; here are the changes I made: I proofed the yeast before adding the yeast, water & sugar to the dry ingredients. Used my stand mixer to mix it all up. Increased basil to 1 tsp. and eliminated garlic powder. Minced 3 cloves fresh garlic and let that sit in 2 T olive oil until soft and then brushed that over the top of the dough. Added thin sliced tomatoes to the top and then sprinkled 1/4 cup fresh parmesan over the top for the last 6 minutes of baking.

Easy Sugar Cookies

I've been looking for that "perfect" sugar cookie recipe for years. This is it. The only change I made was I used 2 tsp. vanilla instead of 1 and rolled the balls in white sugar before baking. Quick to put together and they melt in your mouth.

Basil Tomato Soup

I was really excited to make this recipe after I saw all the excellent reviews. I followed the recipe exactly - and was very disappointed. Both of my kids disliked it also. I didn't find it very flavorful but it's not that it was just bland - it just didn't have a flavor we enjoyed.

Easy Beer Bread Mix

I used only the "homemade" self-rising flour and did not add in the addtional baking powder or salt, or the herbs. I used 12 oz. of ginger ale in place of the beer, which gave this a bit of a sweeter flavor. My picky 7 year old said, "Mom, I LOVE this bread!" and ate 2 pieces with his dinner and another with lunch today. Try it with soda, it's yummy!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

This recipe is so easy and so delicious! I used about 1/2 cup instant mashed potato flakes to help thicken the soup (in addition to the roux mixture called for in the recipe). Also added 2 grated carrots with the other veggies in the beginning. Omitted the salt. Fabulous, easy, delicious!

Old Fashioned Sugar Cookies in a Jar

These are the best sugar cookies I've ever had...melt in your mouth crispy on the edges and chewy in the middle. Oh yum! I didn't have lemon extract so I used 1/4 tsp. additional vanilla extract and 1/4 tsp. orange extract and it was delicious.

Italian Breaded Pork Chops

This recipe was simple and delicious. Even my picky 3 & 6 year olds enjoyed this one, and my super picky 38 year old asked me to make them again soon. I did flour & double-bread as other reviewers have suggested. The chops were thin-cut but still remained very moist and tender.

Smothered Green Beans

I needed to find a good green bean recipe - green beans are one of the few veggies my husband is willing to eat, but I am NOT a big green bean fan! For the first time in my life I WILLINGLY had a second helping of green beans. Even our picky 3 year old ate his green beans. This is the one to make if your family is picky!
