Karyn's Cream of Crab Soup

This is the absolute best crab soup I have ever tasted. There is a place here in PA that has a great recipe and you can only get it at the summer fairs, but this is recipes is SO MUCH BETTER!! No, it is not calorie friendly, but it sure does not lack in taste. It's like anything that you eat...moderation is the key.

Boston Baked Beans

I made this dish exactly as written. I thought the beans were not very flavorful and I had to "doctor" them a little. I ended up adding more molasses mixture and baking them longer. They came out great. I made them a second time, and I doubled up on the molasses mixture and I baked them a full 4 hours. Perfect.! When you add the bean liquid as specified, it waters down the molasses flavor. In my opinion, it tastes much better when I doubled it.

The Best Apple Pie Ever

Just what I was waiting for!! So much flavor. I have been looking for a recipe for apple pie for years that encompasses the cinnamon and nutmeg flavors and I could never find the right one. Now I have found it! Thank you!! Now, this is the only apple pie recipe I use for my family. I made this recipe twice. Once with pie crust on top and once with a crumb topping. Both ways are excellent! This is not your grandmother's "traditional" apple pie. I absolutely LOVE IT!

Luscious Slush Punch

I made this for my sons birthday party and it was a huge hit! I got rave reviews from everyone! Actually, no one drank the other beverages we had available. I will definitely be making this again. My hubby suggested I use Ginger ale next time instead of lemon-lime soda. We'll see..I also liked the fact that I could make this days ahead.

Creamy Frosting

This is the absolute BEST icing I have every tasted, and the ONLY icing I use!! I have been using this recipe for years, and mother used for years before that. This receipe will not work unless the cooked portion is cooled completely. (It shouldn't even be warm. - must be COOL). Butter works best as margarine will make it come out runny. I love the light taste and it is such a universal recipe - trying adding a different extract instead of vanilla. My favorites are almond or rum. P.S. I tried strawberry extract once...didn't work. Good luck! This recipe takes a little time, but once you get it down, you won't go back.
