Grandma Johnson's Scones
This is an excellent recipe for scones, and will now be my one and only scone recipe! We absolutely loved this recipe. The only thing that I did differently, was the way I prepared the ingredients. Like another reviewer suggested, it is best to cream the butter and sugar together in a large bowl, mix the sour cream and baking soda in a separate bowl, and mix the dry ingredients in another bowl. Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture followed by the sour cream mixture. I added only 2/3 cup of sugar and when the scones came out of the oven I brushed agave syrup over the top. Thank you Rob for an awesome recipe.

Rich and Simple French Onion Soup
Thank you Lori for an excellent recipe. I have never made French Onion Soup before and decided to give it a try after reading your recipe. I did made a few changes.. I browned my onions (I love them browned) I did not have swiss or provolone cheese - so I used gruyere cheese instead. I used only 2 tablespoons of butter and replaced 1 can of beef broth with one cup of a dry white wine. I added the dry sherry after cooking the soup for 20 minutes. This soup was a real winner in my house! Even my husband (who does not typically like cooked onions) enjoyed the soup. Next time, I will try the soup with Provolone and Swiss.
