I love to make desserts, especially fancy ones!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I came from a long line of wonderful Pennsylvania Dutch cooks including my mom, my grandmother and my great grandmother. My great grandmother taught me to make pie dough. She gave me a recipe about which she said, "You could march through this dough in your army boots and it will still come out flaky and tender." She was right!
My cooking triumphs
Cheesecakes are my specialty. I can also grill a mean steak.
My cooking tragedies
One time I tried to create a recipe for "Lemon Rice". Though it's the only time my husband ever said this, he asked me to please never make that again.

Foolproof Rib Roast
I also add rosemary to the rub mixture. This method really does work every time! You keep the roasting times the same no matter what size roast you use - the larger the roast is, the longer it will continue to cook during the time the oven is turned off. The second roasting time should be 30-40 minutes for rare; add 10-15 more minutes for medium or well.

Lemon Blueberry Bread
I have made this several times. It's delicious. I omit the walnuts and coat the blueberries with flour before folding them in so they don't sink.
