Eating Grapes In Germany
About this Cook
Currently I reside in Belgium. I graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2005 and married my husband (a sailor). A great part of being a military spouse is traveling and living in different places. Right now I am enrolled in the Masters Program of Psychology and Counseling. I love being a full time student and cooking is my great escape from it all.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook everything! I'm fairly adventerousm and enjoy cooking different kinds of food.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love cooking with friends and family. Getting everyone involved in the kitchen and eating lavish meals together is a great joy.
My cooking triumphs
Cooking triumphs? My first Christmas meal at my house. A roast, crab cakes, cream spinach and to top it off a flourless chocolate torte to die for!
My cooking tragedies
Cooking tragedies, my first Thanksgiving. I was in charge of the baked turkey and found a great recipe, I was all excited. My husband was in charge ofdeep frying a second turkey. So, when it came to prepare his turkey, I discovered a second bag and exclaimed,"wow, your turkey came with 2 bags of giblets, mine only had one." My mother-in-law then replied, no they all come with 2 bags. Horrified, I ran to the stove and performed turkey surgery! I removed the second bag, and salvaged the turkey! :P It was pretty embarassing!

Emily's Famous Hash Browns
Great recipe! I can never cook hash browns right but this recipe is so easy to follow and so tasty- I added garlic powder, sea salt, ground peppercorns and bacon = Yumminess! I think next time I may add cheese for some variety or just leave it as it! so easy and with a food processor is a snap!

Pistachio Crusted Chicken
Absolutely phenomenal! Great for entertaining, everyone is super impressed. My mom loved these, inlaws, and friends, they all wanted the recipe! and it's so easy! even easier- get the de-shelled pistachios :) Also, tonight i'm going to try this recipe with paneko bread crumbs for an even lighter taste :) For the sauce, i used a raspberry syrup for desert, it works perfectly!
