Peach Cobbler I

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2007
I've never made Peach Cobbler until today and I used this recipe...it tasted WONDERFUL, I didn't change a thing in the recipe...I used 10 medium peaches that I got over at our local Farmers Market..to peal them easily drop peaches in boiling water for about a minute and then take them out of the boiling water with a opened spoon and put them in cold water. I'll definitely use this recipe again..IT'S A KEEPER.

Amish Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2008
These cookies are AWESOME...I made several batches from the recipe given. I used my cookie press and was able to make about 35 cookies at a time using my press...I sprinkled red and green sugar crystals over my cookies as well as used Rainbow Sprinkles....very Christmasy looking..IF you are going to use a cookie press be sure to chill dough overnight...after baking they come out crispy and light as a feather...virtually MELT IN YOUR MOUTH. They are WONDERFUL...Gave some to my neighbor she and her husband LOVED THEM.

Melt In Your Mouth Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2008
I have made several different types of cookies for Christmas this year but I gotta tell you THIS COOKIE WAS THE BEST YET.(unbelieveably yummy)..I added mini chocolate chips to my batch and chilled the dough for about two hours...one batch made 79 cookies for me..I didn't use my cookie press though this recipe would have yielded GREAT pressed cookies and a lot more most likely than I wound up with...Instead I dropped teaspoons full of dough on my cookie sheet (I used one of those cookie scoopers)..WORKS WONDERFUL...I then criss crossed each cookie with a fork that I dipped in flour so dough wouldn't stick to the fork..I put 20 cookies on per sheet.I baked them for 14 minutes..these cookies are FABULOUS...I will be making another batch in a few days because I know they won't last long in my house for sure...they MELT IN YOUR MOUTH just like the title of the cookie says..THANK YOU so very, very much for sharing this recipe...HINT: if you don't have one of those cookie scoopers get cha one...(Wal-Mart has them)...they are really a GREAT kitchen tool for making cookies if you bake a lot of them like I do.

Ginger Crinkles

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2011
These cookies are the absolute positive BEST...they are crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside (but not too soft)...A definite keeper and I will make these cookies over and over again...THANK YOU so much for sharing this recipe...It is the BEST Ginger type cookie I've come across and I wanted to let folks know that..I baked mine for 10 1/2 to 11 minutes...they came out perfectly and so delicious. The 1/4 cup of sugar listed (before the salt) is used for rolling cookies in before baking them and not meant to be added to the flour mixture...at least that's how I took it to be...also too, may I suggest that you use a fresh box of baking soda when making these great cookies.

Raspberry Almond Coffeecake

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2009
I made this coffee cake today using fresh blackberries...used two cups of them...it turned out GREAT and the taste was to die for. My neighbor loved it...said it was a "prize winner"..in fact, she asked for the recipe. I doubled the recipe and used a 9 inch spring form pan and baked the cake for 50 minutes. This recipe is definitely a keeper...THANKS SO MUCH for sharing such a GREAT recipe. Will make this coffee cake over and over again using whatever berries I'm able to get at our local store or farmers market.

The Best Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2009
These cookies were just OK for me...if you don't flatten the cookies when you put them on the tray to bake, they come out soft and cake like...if you flatten them they come out soft and chewey...The dough is sticky so you will need to dip your fingers in flour before you press them down with you fingers otherwise the dough will stick to your fingers in the process of flattening them down on the cookie sheet prior to baking them.I prefer a cookie that's more crispier...if however you like SOFT cookies then this cookie recipe is for you. The taste was good but here again I prefer crispy cookies as opposed to soft ones. Also I sprayed my cookie trays with Baker's Joy because I had a hard time getting cookies off the cookie sheet after baking them even when I cooled them for five minutes on the cookie sheet as recommended in the recipe. UPDATE: When I stored these cookies afer baking them they all "melded" together in about 12 hours time..(meaning they all stuck together in my cookie tin)...My son suggested that, that happened because the cookies were somewhat thin...I slightly flattened each of the teaspoons full of dough before I baked them but that should not have stuck them all together like they did..(they weren't that thin..but they were soft and crumbly...I think maybe two teaspoons full of baking soda that the recipe calls for is too much...then again, maybe I did something else wrong..frankly I don't know what happened.

Becki's Oven Barbecue Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2007
I got this recipe in my email box yesterday...went to the store and got me a 12 pack of chicken wings...made the recipe today...it was AWESOME...the barbecue sauce was just the absolute best...even though the recipe calls for one cup of ketchup there is NO ketchup taste in the sauce..(I used Hunts extra thick ketchup).moreover, the sauce was sooo much better than the bottled ones you get at the store...I WILL be making this again...next time I'll use different chicken pieces...not just wings....this recipe is a keeper AND if you love barbecued wings/chicken/pork, you will LOVE this and so will the folks you serve this to.

Best Ever Pie Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2011
This really IS the BEST EVER Pie Crust..I followed the recipe exactly as written...I used my food processor (no I didn't prechill the food processor) and put all the ingredients the recipe calls for in it...yes I had to use my spatula to scoop up the dough (it was extremely soft).....I wrapped it in two bundles and refrigerated it for about an hour...I then put waxed paper on the table and unwrapped one of the bundles...I added more flour to the pile of dough (maybe 3/4 of a cup worth)...in anycase..the dough rolled out beautifully and it was so easy. IF you need to add more flour don't hesitate...it WILL WORK OUT... I am a 69 year old cook and I have always had problems making pie dough...till now that is...THIS IS GOING TO BE MY RECIPE from now on whenever I decide to make a pie...THANK YOU so much Jean for sharing this recipe...as I said earlier, this really is the BEST EVER pie crust...making this pie dough makes pie baking really really easy...(smells so good when it's baking as well)

Tiny Pecan Tarts

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2009
These Tiny Pecan Tarts were really, really good....I didn't change a thing but the previous reviews are right when they suggest that you only measure half the amounts when making up the filling otherwise you will end up with way too much filling...I used just under one teaspoon of filling for each tiny tart..made 40 pcs total....I baked these for 25 minutes...turned out perfectly...I'll definitely will make again...THANKS for sharing such a great recipe.

Creamy Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2007
I made this rice pudding today...I doubled the recipe and I am here to tell you it is AWESOME. When I was cooking it for 20 minutes like the recipe calls for, I didn't think the pudding would thicken up like the recipe said it would but IT DID...it tastes absolutely out of this world. If you like rice pudding and even if you wonder if you do, you will LOVE this recipe...it's really easy to make...don't have to change a thing either..cook it up just like the recipe tells you to...It's a definite keeper for sure.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2009
Absolutely wonderful...I used Jonagold apples I got from Walmart...they are a kind of Johnathan Apple..because Jonagold is a juicy apple I didn't add any water to the recipe and like some of the reviews are saying DON'T double the topping part...in my opinion it would definitely overwhelm the apples and dish would be way way too sweet. Except for ommiting the water and adding four tablespoons of flour to the apples {because Jonagold apples are so juicy) I followed the recipe as written. It turned out perfectly... Will definitely make again...I served the Apple Crisp with a scoop of vanilla ice cream...Yummmy.... Thank you so much for such an easy AND great recipe.
