Fresh out of high school, I was shoved off to college. That just happened to be culinary school in San Francisco at the California Culinary Academy. I graduated in 2006. I'm now an aspiring foodie, looking for a decent job. I'm hopeful to land a Sous job someplace as recommended by the last Chef I worked for.
My favorite things to cook
I prefer desserts, but I love cooking ANYTHING. New foods are amazing; I love eating and cooking new things. I don't care how far into the 'biz you are or how much experience you have, there's always more to learn with cooking. That's what makes it so interesting!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Strangely, I don't have many FAMILY traditions. I grew up eating hamburger helper, tuna casserole, meatloaf and occasionally spaghetti. I don't know HOW I grew up to enjoy sushi, oysters on a half shell, and everything from other countries that I've ever tried.
My cooking triumphs
I find anything new that I attempt and succeed at a triumph in the kitchen.
My cooking tragedies
...Hm. I can't think of the last time that anything turned out horribly and couldn't be salvaged. But I remember trying to get a box of chocolate chips off of the top shelf at my catering job, and the entire box spilled down on top of me and over the floor. That was tragic.
