Smoked Salmon Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2007
I really enjoy this recipes, one of my favorites, and have made it many times. Don't usually include tomatoes and sometimes throw in a pinch of sugar as well. I've also been known to throw a bit of white wine in there too.

Shrimp with Pasta, Sun-Dried Tomatoes, Artichokes and Basil Bacon Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2007
this is probably the most amazing pasta ever. it's so delicious, although for a college student it costs a ton. I think the quality of your artichoke hearts count in this one. I used really cheap ones and they were a bit tough going down. thanks for the great recipe!

The Best Zucchini Fritters Ever

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2007
Really nice recipe. Didn't use onion powder or romano cheese, and replaced the cheese with a hunk of goat cheese and some other cheese I had laying around. Anyhow, they were delicious.. turned out great and looked really nice.

Flambeed Vanilla-Poached Pears with Apricot Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2007
very nice recipe... although I had some home made apricot jam, i love it way too much to use it in a sauce for a new recipe, so i used some gooseberry jam. it was really tasty, and worked very well. the pears i was using were not very ripe, so it took a really long time to get them tender, maybe 10-15 minutes. anyhow, great recipe!

Very delicious recipe.. although my girlfriend was born and raised in Russia and had never heard of it ;) Anyhow, I would definitely try it again, maybe with less onion next time though.

Cassie's Zucchini Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2007
This is the first 1 star review I've ever given. Made the brownies exactly as written. The result was a bland, vegetative brownie with a crispy top, cakey around the perimeter, with a gooey, liquid-filled middle. That was after baking for over 10 minutes longer than stated in the directions! My girlfriend felt ill after trying them. The shame is that we both love zucchini!

Roasted Vegetables

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2007
Yeah, I'm pretty much obsessed with this recipe. Make it at least one time a week now.. It's a very easily adaptable recipe in terms of seasonal ingredients. Throw in whatever you want, zucchini, parsnips, it's all good.

Apple, Carrot, Or Zucchini Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2007
Used carrots, really great cake! I liked the texture. Had to leave it in 5-10 minutes longer to cook through (these tiny european stoves are very unpredictable). The outsides was nice and crisp/chewy with a lovely cakey interior. The cinnamon added a nice taste. Very solid recipe.

Cheesy Zucchini Casserole I

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2007
I really liked it, others didn't so much. It's an American influenced taste, though.. we're used to stuffing at Thanksgiving. To others, it tastes like stale bread. Flavors were delicious!

Beefy Cheesy Pasta

It served its intended purpose, as a quick meal for college students.. Used shredded emmental cheese, because i can't get a hold of cheddar where i live, and it was ok.

Pound Cake with Rum Topping

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2008
Really good recipe! Cake was absolutely delicious, moist, and spongy, and is even better with the little moist layer the booze-sugar liquid provides. I used amaretto for the soaking ingredient. It only sank down about 1 cm though, although company came and had to serve it quickly. I also used ~1.5 tsp "vanilla sugar" instead of extract, bceause they don't have vanilla extract where i live.

Smushed Apples and Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2008
Pretty good! I put a good a good helping of brown sugar in in and a little nutmeg with the cinnamon and the flavor was just lovely. Didn't have granny smith so i used some kind of french apples.. texture was a bit stringy for some reason, but I still might make it again.
