My husband is a big fan of the deli style cheesecake, but I had never attempted to make one before because of how difficult I heard they were. For our sixth wedding anniversary I decided to give it a shot. Using 'Chantal's New York Cheesecake' recipe, along with following some tips from the reviewers, my first cheesecake turned out absolutely amazing!
The changes I made to the ingredients were to cut the flour in half and to use a different crust recipe ('Graham Cracker Crust I' from this site) that included more butter, plus sugar and cinnamon. Other than that, the tips I picked up were to be careful not to overmix the batter and make sure all the ingredients were at room temperature. I also set a pan of boiling water on the rack beneath the cheesecake in the oven. The result was heavenly and my husband can't wait for me to make this again!
