About this Cook
I grew up with a family in the restaurant business, so I was taught to cook from an early age. After facing serious health challenges several years ago, I slowly removed all animal products from my diet. I've been a vegan now for 2 years and I love it! It can be a bit of a challenge at times, but every recipe can be converted. It's true! I've dropped over 100 pounds and over 100 points from my cholesterol. More importantly, I feel so much better, and it's all because of food!
My favorite things to cook
I love a challenge. My favorite thing to eat is vegan lasagna. I love making eggplant w/pasta, portabella mushrooms, veggie burgers, cooking with tofu, and experimenting with new things.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving! It's been a tradition ever since I can remember!
My cooking triumphs
My first cheesecakes. They were beautiful I will never forget the sense of pride I felt! Everyone should make a cheesecake. They're so easy!
My cooking tragedies
Still working on them!

Banana Banana Bread
So very good! I have made this numerous times as written and it never fails to be the best banana bread recipe out there! Today I used coconut oil in place of the butter and white-wheat flour (3/4 cup for every 1 cup all purpose flour). It was delicious!!! Thank you for a great recipe.

Chocolate-Hazelnut Soy Ice Cream
This is the best "ice cream" I have ever had... it is amazing. It tastes alot like a mocha frappuccino. It's really easy to make, and it freezes well. THANK YOU for this recipe... now I will use it as a base and make other flavors too!!
