Only change I made to this cake was using All Purpose Flour instead of Cake Flour. However, I did sift the flour to try to make it fluffier. This cake did not rise, and tasted like sugar cookies. Agree with others that it had a cornbread texture -- grainy. Not a fan. Will not make again.

White Cake Frosting II

Followed the instructions exactly and this came out both watery and grainy. By the time I'd beaten it and gotten it into the piping bag, the ingredients had separated. Had to scrape off my cupcakes and use another recipe.

Vegetarian Meatloaf with Vegetables

Everyone loved this dish. Meat eaters said it was the best meatloaf they'd had and asked for the recipe. Slight changes taken from other reviewers: - 1 tbsp. Worcesteshire rather than 2 tbsp. 1 1/2 C. Whole wheat breadcrumbs rather than making own with bread. 2 cloves fresh garlic rather than garlic salt. Used tangy sauce topping - Ketchup, mustard, brown sugar. Rather than tomato sauce.

Indian Dahl with Spinach

this is a tasty, mild dahl. made with variations that many others mentioned. -- used veggie broth in place of water. -- doubled all spices. -- added 1/2 tsp. yellow curry. wish i had -- doubled the fresh spinach. i like about equal parts lentils to spinach. with the current recipe there is not enough spinach for my taste.

Mexican Pasta

i hated this over pasta. the base of the dish is good but could use some kick. would add jalapeño next time and serve over rice. modifications i made this time: 3tbs of taco seasoning, 1tbs cumin, 14oz of chopped olives. also added a sprinkle of cheese and dollop of sour cream as others suggested. would be great with some kick, and served over rice.

Portobello Mushroom Stroganoff

excellent recipe. i added garlic, worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce as others recommended. also reduced sour cream to 1/2 C. added Quorn chicken patties, but i think it would also be great with some morningstar crumbles.

Vegetarian Shepherd's Pie

i think the name shepard's pie is a little deceiving, this is a great dish! it's more like an indian casserole? curried vegetables with a deconstructed samosa on top (ie. potatoes and peas)! my husband and i loved this dish! and i will definitely make it again. i followed the recipe to the letter and i wouldn't change a thing.

Four Cheese Macaroni

I was really disappointed by this recipe. It used a lot of ingredients and it wasn't really cheesy or creamy like others mentioned. I followed the instructions to the letter. Somehow it came out both runny and lumpy. Too bad.
