About this Cook
I started cooking dinner for my family family of four at age 13. It started out simple with dishes like spaghetti or hamburgs but has only gotten better with time. Now I've moved on to cooking for only my husband and I (which was an adjustment. He's not a real good judge of my cooking ability since all he ate before he met me was frozen dinners... I must admit his pallet is getting better though.
My favorite things to cook
I love making desserts. Cookies, cakes, cream puffs, you name it I love making it.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite cooking tradition is making Polish Kruschiki. It's very labor intensive but it's so much fun.
My cooking triumphs
After finding a quick and easy recipe for cream puffs, I make them for every event possible. They are rich and tasty but only take a few simple ingredients
My cooking tragedies
I think one of the worst things that has happened is when I used old crisco (I didn't know it was THAT old at the time) to make butter cream frosting. It was inedible and a waste of 2 lbs of powdered sugar.

Black Tea Lemonade
I took was hooked on SB's Shaken Black Iced Tea Lemonades and found this to try as a less expensive substitute. I decided to used Earl Gray tea instead because I couldn't find any Orange Pekoe at the store. I also followed some over people's suggestions of using 5 tea bags instead of 3. I added the additional sugar but after tasting the final product I probably shouldn't have because it's way too sweet. I had to brew two more cups of tea to try and even out the sweetness. Next time I make this I'll keep the Earl Gray because it smells amazing, don't use the extra sugar, and brew 5 cups water with 6-7 tea bags to even out the sweetness. I also may not use concentrate next time because it has 29 g of sugar. I may try to use crystal light or some other powder to taste for less calories and less sweetness.
