About this Cook
Born in Anchorage, Alaska. Reared in Indiana. Learned to cook from both Grandmothers and Dad. Picked up lots on my own traveling and spending time in kitchens around the world. Love to cook and bring back recipes from travels to try to match or better.
My favorite things to cook
Meats, Pasta, international foods. Desserts.
My favorite family cooking traditions
German, French, American. Recipe collections passed on to kids and grandkids.
My cooking triumphs
Made my own three tier from scratch chocolate wedding cake. Learned lots on that one.
My cooking tragedies
Forgot to add all ingredients to a few recipes. Those directions and ingredients are there for a reason.

Maple-Brined Pork Loin
Made it for part of the meats for 150 at our church. There were no leftovers and lots of compliments and recipe requests.

Slow Cooker Turkey Breast
Great recipe as written. Add onions, celery and butter with rosemary and thyme to make it even better. My wife asked why we didn't have turkey this way every time. This recipe is now a staple for turkey breast in our house.
