Turkey Bean Chili

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2011
Amazing! The best chili I have ever made (and I wasn't too keen on turkey chili) I added: 4 cloves of crushed garlic, a french onion bouillon cube (or use beef), doubled the chili powder and cumin, a teaspoon of oregano and a tablespoon of molasses. DELISH!

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2010
I had to majorly "doctor" this as it was way too cream cheesey for me. I added 3 times the amount of butter, sugar and vanilla. But it was amazingly light, like a mousse and delicious.

Vegan Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2010
Perfect! I am not a vegan and these do not taste vegan. I added a little extra: cocoa, baking soda and vinegar (as suggested as others) also added chocolate chips for an extra yum factor. I made vegan because I was worried because my daughter loves the batter and it's not safe to eat raw eggs. This recipe was perfect in all it's forms, I even ate the batter.

Best Ever Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2010
I made this recipe twice first time they were great, I made a half batch and they were gone in hours. The second time I made a full batch, I added a little bit too much milk (I think) and they were doughy. The next day they were hard. I might give it another try as one of the best qualities these had were they were so easy to make, really fast.

Slow Cooker Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2009
It's good, I don't think it's the best in the world. I took one reviewer's advice and only added the amount of liquid needed to moisten it and still I got that weird puddle at the bottom of the slow cooker hours later, which I drained. I had to cook it for the 8 hours in order for the consistency to become normal as it was pasty for the first 7. My advice to people is to really watch how much liquid you use.

Gnocchi I

I microwaved the potatoes took 7 minutes, rinsed them with cold water, then mashed. it took max 25 to assemble and cook. I'd use this again and maybe look at the other reviews for suggestions.

Butter Chickpea Curry

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2009
No matter how many spices I added I could still taste the tomato soup, next time maybe I'll try canned or fresh tomatoes.

Crispy Vegetable Pakoras

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2009
This was delicious, even my picky three year-old loved it (I pureed hers before frying it)! My suggestion is to use quality spices, I used Penzey spices and everything turned out amazing, full of flavor.

Nut Burgers (Vegetarian)

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2009
Awesome texture! But you need to majorly "doctor" it as it was so bland the first time I made it. I added two crushed cloves of garlic, half a veggie onion bullion cube (crumbled) and topped it with garlic mayo. I also pureed less than HALF (the half included all the egg, bullion and garlic) of it and barely mushed the other half, so it would stick. This was one of the best veggie burgers I've ever had!

I forgot to put the oil in and it was still great! WARNING: This may hype up the kids, adults eat before 4 so you can sleep too!

Vegan Split Pea Soup I

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2008
ZERO STARS (actually if you could put a negative sign in front of that star selected above). It is not good and I followed this recipe exactly. it had no flavour except the peas and I could taste a little thyme. there was no depth or layers to the flavour. I can't believe this is a four and a half star recipe, it is just terrible. Both my parents are amazing cooks and my dad really does make the best vegan pea, I will have to get the recipe off him.

Mom's Turkey Sausage Patties

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2007
I'm an American living in a country were turkey sausage doesn't exist. This taste just like the breakfast pork sausages I grew up with (only less fat and dense texture). I am amazed! It is so good and you really don't miss the fat at all (well maybe a tinsy bit).

Butternut Squash Soup II

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2007
Yummy! I used olive oil and half the butter to save on fat and used vegetable broth instead of chicken and it was still great. My husband likes it chunky so I don't puree his bowl, he thinks it's great and he's a major carnivor!

Hermits II

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2007
I made this because one of the reviewers was from massachusetts and said it was just how she remembered them. I'm from massachusetts, lived in 2 different towns 2 cities and these are not how I remembered them at all. These were not as flavorful/spice-filled as I remembered also the the texture was off and hermits were bars not cookies. These were ok, but they weren't hermits to me.
