Boiled Water

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2013
I finally got to try this recipe, Water is hard to come by but I did use some snow and it worked out well. I can't wait for tuesday, as I think this will pair very well with the bird that I have been watching outside to cook up.

Banana Nut Bread II

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2013
I love the heavy consistancy of this bread. I put my bread on quick cycle in my Oster Bread machine and just add all the ingrediants. except I use melted butter instead of margerine. If I have thawed frozen bannanas I can just add them in, if they are just over ripe I have to mash them first of the bread machine will not fully do the job. I also dont like nuts so never add them.

Farfalle Special

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2013
We have an italian resturant in town that makes this and I was looking for how to make it. I did substitute a couple things to what I had on hand. I cooked the murshrooms, onion, and bacon and when they were cooked I added about 2 tbs of flour before adding milk, since I didnt have cream. I let that heat up till thick while stiring and then added 2 oz of parmasian cheese. I also realized I didnt have tomato sauce, so I pureed a can of tomatoes and added a couple spoonfuls of that. It was very very good and tasted just like my fav restruant!

Pasta e Fagioli a la Chez Ivano

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2013
Followed recipe except I halfed it (and used black eyed peas instead of kidney). We ate ours with grilled cheese. We did find it alittle bland so before I put it in the fridge I added more spices, garlic powder, and alittle better than beef bouillon. But even though it was bland it was a very comforting soup.

Crispy and Creamy Doughnuts

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2013
Made the dough in the bread maker, although next time I will do a half recipe since it over flowed when it was rising. I also do not have any sort of doughtnut maker, so I just rolled the dough into a doughnut shape and then put them in the hot oil. Worked perfectly and the icing was delicious. although I will say, mine turned out nothing like Krispy Creme, but still delicous

Rosemary Braised Lamb Shanks

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2012
This was my first time having lamb shanks. I did not like the consistancy of the meat at all. I was not expecting it to be like chicken. but as for flavor it was very good. I loved the gravy it made! I ate the mashed potatoes and gravy, and my husband ate the lamb :)

Buttery Herb Wine Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2012
I thought this was great. I added a half a onion and garlic when I added the mushrooms I used a fresh mushroom mix. I also did not add the egg. My husband, who is not a mushroom pasta fan said it was good, but I could tell he didnt think it was great. I loved it though. I served it over penne pasta and steamed peas on the side. also I baked some chicken peices coated in italian breadcrumbs at 350 for 15 min and they were great on top.

Margaret's Keftedes (Greek Meatballs)

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2012
My favorite meal! Only used one egg, used bread crumbs instead of bread but have made it with the bread, I just find the bread crumbs easier. I also use a pound of lamb and 1/2 pound of beef.
