Belle's Hamburger Buns

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2011
This is a FANTASTIC recipe! I frequently make homemade bread and usually do all of the mixing/kneading by hand since I don't have a dough hook or a bread machine. This recipe is so easy and almost perfect as written. I only used 5 cups of flour. And after putting the egg wash on, I sprinkled dried chopped onion and garlic salt on top of the buns. They were wonderful! Thank you for a great recipe!

Spicy Vegan Potato Curry

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2011
I made this recipe exactly how it's written. I agree with another review that said the taste of the coconut milk and ginger is totally overpowered. If I make this again, I'd cut the curry powder in half. Overall it has a nice texture and flavor and goes well served over brown rice with a glass of crisp white wine to cut the spiceiness.

Herb Batter Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2010
This recipe was amazing! I loved it! I frequently make bread, but this will definitely go into my weekly rotation! I added a tablespoon of garlic powder and some freshly chopped chives for a bit of extra flavor. Mine was also completely baked and perfectly golden after 32 minutes, so I'd advise checking it frequently after the first half hour. Thanks for a wonderful recipe!

Banana-Chip Oat Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2010
Followed the recipe exactly, and loved them! I really like this recipe since it does not contain a ton of oil or eggs...Next time I might try throwing in a little shredded coconut or some cinammon or cloves for a little extra flavor.

Leek Potato Mushroom Cheddar Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2010
After trying several leek and potato soup recipes, this one is my favorite! I use nonfat milk, and it still tastes great! The only change I sometimes make is to roast an entire head of garlic and puree that into the soup - it's a subtle flavor that really adds to the soup.

Quick Gnocchi

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2010
This is EXCELLENT! I was reminiscing about eating gnocchi in Campo de Fiori in Rome on our vacation, and was inspried to make my own. I was going to do a ricotta gnocchi, but I thought it may be too heavy/fattening. I was so pleased to find this recipe. It is awesome! You cannot tell there are instand mashed potatoes in the dough. I added some chopped rosemary and garlic powder to the dough mixture. They were so flavorful! I made a sauce using diced tomatoes, olive oil, garlic, rosemary, basil and Italian blend cheeses. My husband and I loved it! The only thing I would say is to double or triple the quantity. I always like a little bit of leftovers to pack for my hubby's lunches...

Chicken Stew with Dumplings

Reviewed: May 25, 2010
Wonderful! I used chicken broth instead of the water. I also added one can of Cream of Chicken soup as well as 3/4 cup of milk. I used chicken breats which I cut up into small cubes and cooked with the potatos for 1.5 hours. Perfect!

Baked French Fries I

Reviewed: May 21, 2010
Wonderful recipe! I multiplied it by 5 because I made a big batch for a BBQ...The only change I made was to use 1/2 regular paprika and 1/2 smoked Hungarian paprika. Thanks!

Peppered Focaccia

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2008
This is the best focaccia dough out there! I also use this as my pizza dough, and throw in different spices depending on the type of pizza I'm making. So, if I make a taco pizza, I use this dough recipe and throw in red pepper flakes. It's perfect! I normally allow mine to rise about 30 minutes prior to shaping it.

This was excellent! I make several batches of bread each week, and this is one of my new best recipes! My husband nearly ate the entire batch! Didn't change a thing...

Golden Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2008
This was an amazingly good recipe! So much better then basic baked chicken (using bread crumbs)! I only used half the amount of butter and found it sufficient. Loved it!

French Herb Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2007
I make this recipe all the time and I love it! You can really play with different kind of herbs in order to make a bread that compliments your main dish. Something I like to do is this: Once the bread is rolled, I cut it up the way you would with cinammon rolls. Then, I make little rolls that each have a ribbon of herbs through them. Guests love them!
