Friendship Fruit Starter

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2008
Got my starter made and needed to do something with my fruit. I took a cake mix...I had french vanilla on hand and added 3 eggs, 3/4 oil & about 3/4 cup water and two cups fruit starter fruit chopped up. Made cupcakes and baked for 25 minutes at 350. Turned out great. Have my starter going for my 30 day cake now.

Hot Buttered Rum Batter

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2010
Delicious. This is really good as my creamer in my coffee in the morning, without the buttered rum :) This will now be my recipe. I also used Spiced Rum like some other reviewers. Just a splash for me. Used French Vanilla Breyer's.

Roasted Garlic

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2010
Who knew that Roasted Garlic could be so Awesome!! I just wrapped them up in foil with oil, salt and pepper and baked for an hour. We spread it on lightly toasted and buttered ciabatta bread. Now that is addictive. I will be buying the large bags of garlic at the store know.

Streusel Rhubarb Bread

Good, but probably won't make again. It is tart on the bottom and sweet on top because of settling.

Sauteed Cherry Tomatoes with Garlic and Basil

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2010
Everyone seemed to enjoy this. I just received them in my bountiful basket and needed to find a recipe to make them. I'm giving this 5 stars because I thought it was good. I'm not a tomato fan, so for me to even like them a little makes it a 5 star :)

Roasted Tomatoes with Garlic

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2010
I am not a tomato fan but got a container of these in my Bountiful Baskets and this is the recipe I chose. I'm giving this 5 stars because I did like it. So for a non-tomato lover, it was good. My husband and kids liked it as well.

General Tao Chicken

Reviewed: May 6, 2010
It was my first Asian dish cooked (besides stir-fry). It was good, but needed a good bit of rice to tone down the sweetness. It was almost sickly sweet, but the overall flavors are wonderful. Will try again. I followed the recipe exactly but will find a way to cut back on the sugar.

Whole White Wheat and Honey Chocolate Chip Cookies

BOMB-DIGITY! They do have a cakie texture, which we love! I used red wheat from my wondermill, since it seems to be impossible to get white around here. Very good, will make again!

Schlotsky's Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2009
This is the easiest. yummiest sandwich bread. I actually forgot to spray the bread with cooking spray before cooking and it was hard when it came out. I realized that I forgot to spray it and sprayed it right then. The next time I walked by it was perfect. Exactly like schlotzky's bread!

Farmhouse Chicken

Yum-O! Will definitely make again. If you use Stove Top Stuffing do not add any extra salt. It is plenty salty as is. Very good and easy recipe. I did leave the chicken breast whole so everyone could have one.

German Lasagna

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2008
WOW. This was fantastic....and addictive. I did saute an onion with a little bit of carraway and then added the sauerkraut to remove a little moisture. Used whole wheat lasagna...it actually added a great flavor to it. Served spicy brown mustard on the side. Of course I will make this again!!!!

Refried Beans Without the Refry

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2009
I have tried so many bean recipes and this is the best....and the simplest. I used half pintos/half black beans. 1 T. canned diced jalapeno. I soaked the beans overnight so it did not take 8 hours in the crock pot. I used a potato masher to mush them up. It made the healthiest, yummiest bean burrito. Oh...and don't add the salt until the beans are fully cooked. It seems better that way. Thank You!

Split Pea Soup

This is the first and last recipe I will ever try. It is fabulous. And it makes plenty for freezing. I added an extra potatoe and used three ham hocks. It is wonderful and you will definitely not be disappointed.

Mini Pineapple Upside-Down Cakes

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2010
I had never made this kind of cake. I wanted a fruity type cake for my kids' birthday being they love fruit. This is what my son picked and he picked well! Everyone at the party kept raving about this cake. I still hear about it now and then on how good it was. I did bake mine in two onion soup bowls so my kids could have their own birthday cake and then did the rest in a 9X13 pan for the rest of us. I did mix up two boxes of the cake mix and did not have to use all of my pineapple. Delicious!
