Sweet Potato Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2009
This was really good. A lot like a pumpkin pie. Mine took a little longer than 50 minutes to bake, but it was really good. I will definitely make it again.

Chocolate Butter-Creme Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2009
Easy to make and it tastes very good. I might add another block of the chocolate next time to make it extra rich. Nice consistency.

Sturdy Whipped Cream Frosting

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2009
If you like Cool Whip, then you will like this. It is the easiest frosting I've made, and it washes up easier than butter frostings. I used it on a banana cake for my daughter's 1st birthday. I wanted something that was not too sugary or buttery. She liked it, but my husband and I don't like Cool Whip, so we didn't really like it. I think it is a good recipe, but again, if you don't like Cool Whip, probably not the best choice.

Impossibly Easy French Apple Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2009
My husband made this and followed the recipe exactly. It was really good, but I wouldn't call it a pie. It did have a somewhat custard like texture and taste when warm out of the oven, like some other reviews mentioned. However, when it cooled, I thought it was most like what I would call a coffee cake. I will make this recipe (or my husband will) again.

Mango Lassi II

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2007
Very good! It was a thick drink, but I like that consistency in a smoothie. My husband thought it would be better with more mango and a more liquidy consistency, but agan, I like it thick. I will make it the same way next time. I would only use a tablespoon or so of sugar next time though, as I don't like things too sweet and it is healthier that way! :)

Special Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2007
This is really, really good! I am still chilling it, but I couldn't wait to try it, and even warm, it tastes amazing. I picked this recipe because my husband doesn't like mayonnaise and therefore would not eat the normal potato salad recipes that I like. I expected this to be good but not creamy at all, but I was wrong. It has a very good flavor that still tastes creamy. I halved the recipe because I was skeptical about the healthier ingredients of this tasting good, and now that I've tasted it I wished I had doubled it! I bet you could add more or less of certain ingredients to suit your taste too. I used turkey bacon, but the only other ingredient I changed was using fresh chopped basil since I was out of dried basil. I still can't get over how wonderful this recipe is. Thanks for sharing this version of potato salad, I will definitley make it again.

Busia's Cutout Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2007
This was a difficult review to decide on. I would definitley give it a 5 for ease of working with the dough; it really had the best texture I've ever worked with for cutout cookies. As far as the flavor goes, I would give it a 3 or maybe even a two. I don't like my cookies to be too sweet, but these had very little flavor period. I bet the other reviewer had the right idea though, when they said it was the perfect cookie recipe to use with lots of icing. If you had a really rich icing, I think this would be the perfect cookie dough. And if I were to make cookies with kids, I would definitely use this recipe because of how easy the dough was to work with. Thanks for sharing this recipe.

Hummus III

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2007
This is areally great recipe. It's easy and it's small enough that it can all fit into my rather tiny food processer. Both times I added things for different flavors, but it is excellent as a base and I am sure it would be great plain too. The first time I roasted and peeled 1 red bell pepper and added 1 cerrano pepper chopped up and a teaspoon of cumin powder. The second time I made it I added half a cucumber and about 3 tsp of dried dill. Both were very good. Thanks for the wonderful recipe!

Slow Cooker Adobo Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2007
I went with several other suggestions on this recipe, and it was very easy and very good. I loved it and my husband liked it too. I used 1/4 c red wine vinegar instead of white, 1/3 cup low sodium soy sauce, and I added 1 Tbs brown sugar, 1/4 cup water, 2 bay leaves, 10 peppercorns, 1 Tbs chopped ginger. I also only used 1/2 pound chicken thigh meat, still very easy with all of the extra stuff. I served it with rice. I will definitley make it again and the only thing I would do differently next time is add a vegetable, like snow peas or broccoli.
