Naan

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2007
I absolutely loved this! Needing a bread to accompany my Indian style dinner one night, I searched for a Naan recipe. I chose this one for its simplicity and ease. I cannot say enough about this fantastic bread! I don’t have the ability to have an outdoor grill, so into a hot oven they went! I baked them at 450 on foil for about 5 minutes and they came out wonderful! I had some foil and butter ready, so as soon as one batch came out of the oven, I buttered them and wrapped them in the foil. By the time I was done I had a nice stack of hot, buttery naan that was just unbelievable!

Navratan Korma

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2007
I am a huge Navratan Korma fan, it’s always the first thing I look for when we eat out at Indian restaurants. I was very happy to see this recipe, and started gathering ingredients to make this dish. I was not disappointed in this recipe, it was great! It was even better the second day, it re-heated really well! I would highly recommend a trip to the store to get the garlic and ginger pastes; they are used frequently in Indian cooking and are an added benefit to your pantry! Thank you!

Lasagna Spinach Roll-Ups

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2007
This was so good! My household really enjoyed these, a nice twist on our typical lasagna night! I must admit though, I didn't use cottage cheese (I will try it next time!) but they still came out fantastic!! Thank you!

Ricotta Cheese Pancakes

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2007
I really enjoyed these pancakes, thank you! I used egg whites instead of the replacer, and they came out very well! Topped with some broiled grapefruit slices, this was a great weekday brunch!

Avocado Tzatziki

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2007
Yum Yum Yum! I was delightfully impressed by this, made a nice sauce for my falafel sandwich! The flavor was just right, I added a little dill weed at the end, only for personal preference! Thanks for sharing!

Ultimate Twice Baked Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2007
This makes a very rich, creamy side dish, perfect for those nights when you want something more than just “meat and potatoes”! I was very happy with these, though my potatoes took almost two hours to cook, but they were very big! I took the advice of other reviewers and added the milk at the end of my mixing, so I could judge the consistency.

Irish Soda Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2007
Very interesting bread! I was surprised at the taste the bread took on with the caraway in it, pleasantly surprised! I also halved the raisins, since they can be hit or miss in my house. Made this on St. Patricks Day and had plenty to make into some fine toast the next day! I wonder what this would taste like as a bread pudding… hmm. As with others’, my dough was extremely sticky, but I was very happy with the outcome, it baked properly!

Asian-Inspired Honey-Vanilla Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2007
This marinade was quite nice. I added a little more honey than the recipe stated, and some chili oil. I set it in the fridge in the morning, and by afternoon the chicken was soaked with the flavorful liquid! A little more brown sugar at the end, and in the broiler it went! Out came a delicious chicken dish! With the left over marinade I made a quick glaze, which was a nice topping for the chicken! Thanks!

Arrabbiata Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2007
This is my favorite sauce! I think it tastes great on just about anything, especially thick cut penne pasta! It might not be the “traditional” Arrabbiata sauce you might be looking for, but please give this one a chance, it is bold and flavorful!! It is a spicy sauce, that’s what I love about it, hits the spot when I get that spicy craving!! Fantastic! I do like the thought of adding cream, for a nice cream sauce, will have to try that next time!

Chicken Wild Rice Soup I

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2007
This was a fantastic recipe! Very hearty for a frosty winters night! The soup was very deep and I had enough left over to freeze for later! I used 5 drumsticks instead of breasts, per my family’s request. I also added a bit of garlic salt, at the end, for a robust bite. I am very happy to have found this great chicken soup recipe, thank you very much!!
