About this Cook
I am a wife and mother of a 16 year old son and a 14 year old daughter. I love to cook BUT hate to clean so the rule in my house is "if you cook, you don't have to clean." This makes it fun for my family to want to cook and try out new recipes!
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook anything super quick and super easy since we have such busy schedules.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family loves Taco night. I make hard-shell and soft tacos and set out all of the fixings so everyone can build their own tacos. Taco night also means brownies for dessert which I always make with applesauce in place of oil.
My cooking triumphs
When I cook a meal as a theme for a family movie that we all watch either outside with the projector or inside in the family room.
My cooking tragedies
I have never cooked a whole chicken or turkey before :( The Thanksgiving and Christmas tradition of serving turkey falls on my mom...some day, I may have to give it a try.

Healthier Broiled Tilapia Parmesan
Wow! This was delish - definitely restaurant quality! I made this with the Olive Oil Miracle Whip and skipped half the butter. This was super easy to make and will be on our menu rotation for quite a while. I served the Tilapia over brown rice and sauteed zucchini and yellow squash with garlic, olive oil and parmesan cheese. YUMMY!

Aunt Ruth's Crab Cakes
Just made these for an appetizer for tonight's dinner...YUMMY! These are so good and easy, especially since everything is already in your fridge or cabinet! I followed the recipe exactly as written - the only thing I changed was to bake these instead of frying. Bake at 425 for 12 min., turning crab cakes halfway through cooking time. My whole family agreed these were as good as and possibly even better than served at restaurants. Chock full of crabmeat and very little filler. I would recommend using the Old Bay the crab cakes that extra kick!Excellent! I posted a picture for the recipe.

Seafood Stuffed Zucchini
This was very good! I have to admit, I'm getting tired of all of these reviews where people say "I used (blank) because it's all I had on hand." These are recipes and I rely on the reviews to know how they taste - not what you had on hand and how THAT tasted! Am I the only one that actually GOES to the store to buy the necessary ingredients to make a recipe??? There was nothing wrong with the way this recipe was written ...and yes, I followed the recipe and bought ALL necessary ingredients. Please just add this recipe to your circulation and buy all the ingredients and follow the recipe because you will find that this dish is really very good...just as written! Thank you Bill Pollackov for posting such a yummy recipe that my whole family loved!
