About this Cook
Elementary music teacher. Singing is my life, but cooking is quickly becoming very important.
My favorite things to cook
I LOVE to bake, but I enjoy trying anything new. I am fairly creative, and I enjoy 'tweaking' recipes, too.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving and Easter, of course. My Grandma also made the BEST rivel soup (and I wish she had personally taught me before she passed on, because I can't seem to get it right just yet).
My cooking triumphs
I recently had a gigantic amount of apples at my disposal, and I have successfully made some very delicious dinners (including an apple curry chicken), and an AMAZING pie (caramel apple).
My cooking tragedies
Never, EVER add chocolate to baked apples. Haha.

Apple Crisp II
Apples have been my "thing" lately, due to a trip to a local orchard. My boyfriend and I have them for every meal! He is a huge fan of desserts, and this was PERFECT to satisfy his sweet tooth. The only thing I changed was adding about a 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts. Will DEFINITELY use this again! Thanks!

Chicken and Apple Curry
Because of a recent trip to a local orchard, I have an abundance of delicious apples. They are a part of every meal! :) I was already a fan of chicken curry, but this brought that love to a whole new level! Extremely easy, and extremely yummy! I pan-flashed the chicken first (outsides cooked, insides pink) and cubed it, and I also used 1/2 cup of coconut milk and 1/2 cup of milk instead of all plain milk. Wonderful! Will DEFINITELY use again!

Caramel Apple Pie II
If you like caramel apples, and you like apple pie, try this recipe. I love fall season because of the plentiful (delicious) apples. We went apple picking at a local orchard, and I have been making every apple dish that I can find! This one was a HUGE hit with my boyfriend and I. I did add an extra tablespoon of flour, and I used three different varieties of apples (golden delicious, macintosh, and johnathan). Yummy!
