I'm a married SAHM in her fifties with 4 kids from 10-22. I love most cuisines and most veggies. I try to avoid starchy and sugary food, though sometimes, especially on a cold, dark, blustery day, there is a primal need to cook up something warm and comforting...macaroni and cheese, anyone??
My favorite things to cook
Frittatas (heavy on the veggies), soups, chicken, desserts, NEW RECIPES
My favorite family cooking traditions
"Kodovls and Glaze"...a German inspired soup that is a heart attack in a bowl...egg dumplings, potatoes, sour cream, onions, and sausage, salt, pepper, parsley. Yummy and filling. Save for special occasions or really bitterly cold winter nights.
My cooking triumphs
The Thanksgiving for 25 where every part of the extravagant feast was at the perfect temperature when the meal started (I had help!!) The tables were festive, the garnishes and serving ware made for a gorgeous presentation. It was indeed a triumph!
My cooking tragedies
Early in my marriage, I served my hubbie a baked potato with butter. Only item on the menu. He has never let me forget it! But in my skinny days, that was once a satisfying meal to me, I protest!
