Olive Cheese Melts

Reviewed: May 23, 2010
I substituted cream cheese for the mayonnaise and also omitted the salt. I then spread the cheese on mini rye bread slices and pumpernickel slices.

Wonderful Banana Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2011
I made some changes based on feedback and this cake was a huge success. Very moist and flavorful. I added an extra banana and 1/2 cup of sour cream and a teaspoon of cinnamon. I then made it in 2 round cake pans and iced with a cream cheese frosting.

I marinated the beef in soy sauce and teriyaki sauce with 1 minced clove of garlic. The beef was very flavorful. Hit with the whole family.

Grilled Lemon Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2010
Very easy and great flavor. I did not have any red bell pepper so I substituted sun-dried tomatoes. I also used have of the oil from the sun-dried tomatoes and half olive oil. I also baked the chicken in the oven with all the marinade.

Phenomenal Chicken and Pasta in Creamy Pesto Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2009
Great Flavors! However I would suggest deseeding the tomato or using a little less. The pesto was a little runny which is one of the reason why the sauce was probably a little runny at the end. I ended up thickening the sauce with cornstarch.

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2009
I left the raspberries whole since they are so small to start with. This was a huge hit with kids and adults. Might use just a tad less sugar next time.

Mexican Rice II

Super Easy and great taste. The rice doesn't actually puff during the saute stage. Just be sure and take your time browning the rice.

Grandma's Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2009
I made this exactly as the recipe said to. To me it lacked alot of flavor. I will make it again, but I will substitute chicken stock for the water. I will also not mix the bacon in until the end so that it remains crunchy and I think I will add another can of corn that I will drain first. I prefer a bit more substance to my soup...this was a little too watery.

Pork Chops to Live For

Reviewed: May 1, 2009
I followed the suggestion of some of the other reviews. My addition was a 1/2 cup of red wine into the sauce. I seasoned my flour and just coated my pork chops in the flour and the browned them in olive oil. After that I sauted a package of mushrooms and added that to the crockpot with the pork chops. Next I mixed together 1 can of Cream of Mushroom soup with a package of Onion Soup, 1 1/2 cans of milk and half a cup of red wine. Cooked it on low all day and it was yummy. The pork chops were so tender and everyone in my family loved them.
