Tortilla Rollups IV

Reviewed: May 29, 2010
I could not find the dressing mix, but my husband found some spicy ranch dressing in a bottle that did the job. I mixed 1/2 cup of the dressing with 1/2 a cup of the sour cream to thicken it up a bit. Also added chopped black olives and green onions to this.

Broccoli Hamburger Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2010
This was a pretty tasty dish. I made a few changes. I used 1 1/2 pounds of ground turkey and added garlic. Only 8oz of Light sour cream, no salt and I added cut up potatoes and used onion powder instead of real onions because I was out. I also used just 1 can of cream of mushroom soup and a couple splashes of chicken broth to make it spread better. I only used 2 cups of cheddar cheese and threw a couple pieces of crumbled turkey bacon (left over from breakfast) on top. I figure I cut down on about 200 unnecessary calories with a few easy changes. And my husband renamed this the "Cluster Casserole" because you could add pretty much anything to it :). Good basics, but nice to change it up to suit your needs.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2010
I thought this was great! We topped it off with some Baby Ray's BBQ sauce and Loved it! The only reason I gave it 4 stars is to honor my husband who thought it needs something extra to not make it taste so root beerish...

Insanely Amazing Jalapeno Cheese Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2009
I really like the flavor, but it seemed to take longer than 30 minutes for the cheeses to melt. Next time I will try it with some garlic added.

Three-Cheese Spaghetti Bake

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2007
It was delicious! My husband and I both loved it. I added italian sausage, chopped pepperoni, onion, green pepper and shredded carrots to it to "beef" it up :o). The only reason I gave it a 4 is because I probably gained a few pounds from it!

Roast Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2007
Very Tasty, but it took twice as long as the orignal recipe said! The rest of my dinner was ready, so we had the potatoes when we had already eaten everything else. I used Mrs. Dash, ground pepper and a bit of seasoning salt and then when there was about 10 minutes left put some shredded parmesan cheese on them. When they were done, they were great!

Basic Baked Spaghetti

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2007
This tasted great! It was very similar to the classic spaghettie, but I liked it with the cheese on top. I added lots of garlic and seasoning to regular jarred sauce. Seeing that everyone wrote it was a bit dry and I didnt have extra sauce I added water to the bottom of the dish and it came out perfect! My 3 year old loved it. Definatley a keeper :o).

Chicken and Bacon Shish Kabobs

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2007
I used a store bought Teriyaki marinade instead of the sauce mentioned here because it was what I had and it turned out great! We also added yellow peppers and white onions. I microwaved the bacon some before grilling and instead of having the flames on high I cooked them for longer over a low-medium setting so the veggies did not burn. My husband said that it was the best meal I have ever made for him and he really doesnt care for chicken either! For a quicker fix I would definitely recommend the Teriyaki marinade.

Grilled Sausage with Potatoes and Green Beans

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2007
I thought this was delicious! My husband wouldve given it a 3 1/2 though so I went with a 4. I added corn as mentioned by another review as well as garlic and alittle more butter and less water. I also doubled the foil and cooked it for about 10 minutes longer and turned it often. I will make this again, even my toddler liked it!

Three Cheese Manicotti II

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2007
My husband thought this was really good and from him that is a big compliment. He is very picky. I thought it was ok. I added more garlic and italian seasoning as suggested by another review. It still seemed alittle bland for my taste.

Classic Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2007
It was great! The only thing I changed was the cheese. Instead of using the slices I got Tilamook's sharp cheddar and shredded it. It was more work, but I really think it added to the flavor.
