My favorite things to cook
I love coming up with new recipes with what I have on hand, and really love the All Recipes site for inspiration and reading the reviews! I love it when cooks 'tweak' a recipe and make it 'theirs'. I love to cook fresh veggies with pasta, omelets, baking desserts, slow cooker recipes...
My favorite family cooking traditions
Definate comfort food is from my Ukranian background...perogies. I have made them from scratch, but discovered frozen "Mrs. T's"...they are awesome. Checkerboard cakes for family birthdays, and making pancakes in number shapes for the birthday recipient, are all cooking traditions.
My cooking triumphs
Anything that my family or guest asks for seconds or thirds! Outrageous cookie bars, pumpkin bars, are always in demand.
My cooking tragedies
Almost always burn the last batch of cookies! Haha

Blueberry 'S' Pie
I searched for the perfect 'blueberry something' for my husband's birthday and tried this rave reviews by everyone! The crust and topping came out beautifully, just the right ratio to the blueberry filling. I used fresh berries, and a 10" pie plate. Thank you Betty!

Ranger Cookies I
This is an awesome, if misleading recipe....I changed the serving size from 18 to 36 cookies. I ended up with 100, 3 inch cookies! In the adjusted recipe for three dozen cookies, it called for 6 cups of flour! I reduced it to 4, and it came out perfect with the oats, crispy rice, coconut...I did use 1 cup of coarsely chopped nuts to replace one cup of the crispy rice...and some chocolate chips. I also used butter instead of shortening. This is a great recipe...enjoy!

Amish White Bread
I found this in my Allrecipes cookbook and have made it countless times. It is the easiest and best bread recipe. I have never had luck before with making bread, and this is so fun to make! And it makes the house smell wonderful all day! Reading the reviews, I will reduce the sugar next time (there is bread rising as I type...LOL), and add some flax seed next time. I almost always use half for bread and half for the best cinnamon rolls you will ever eat! I don't measure, but use, sugar, brown sugar, melted butter and chopped walnuts...oh, my. Soooo good! Have fun with it.
