Korean Beef Ribs

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2007
OK...I'd give this recipe 10 stars if I could to help it get a better reputation around here. To tell you the truth, I usually don't even try something if it doesn't have AT LEAST four stars (learned my lesson) but I was short-handed on ingredients and this recipe fit. In fact, I still didn't have the brown sugar and just used organic cane instead, plus, we use Mrs. Braggs aminos instead of soy sauce, but no one seemed to care because they were so busy eating the ribs and sopping up the sauce that it was pretty silent at the table. I'm not a Korean food guru and have no idea what ingredients it is "supposed" to have, but I do know when something tastes incredible and this was one of the most incredible marinades for beef I've ever tasted. The only mistake I made was cooking beef ribs instead of a beef rib roast. There just wasn't enough meat to satiate our addicted pallets!!! Next time, I'm just gonna use a round roast...maybe two...or three (jk)!!! Delightful, give it a try! Thanks, Lindsay.

Absolutely the BEST Rich and Creamy Blue Cheese Dressing Ever!

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2010
Hands down the best bleu cheese dressing I've ever had!!! It is the perfect balance of ingredients. Mine probably turned out a little thicker because I was out of milk and had to use half and half, but my fridge will never be without this dressing! Perfect for salads AND dipping. If I could give it 10 stars, I would!

Bean Soup With Kale

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2009
You just don't want the bowl to end! We are vegetarians, so I used a homemade bouillon powder I got from bluedogblog and it turned out just right. (Plus, the nutritional yeast in the bouillon mix added some good protein, vitamins and minerals!) The one thing I must say is that this recipe does NOT feed 8 adults--more like 4 with no seconds. If you eat soup as your main course like my family, plan on doubling it and triple for guests. Thanks, Jean, for the great recipe I will make again and again.

Flax and Sunflower Seed Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2009
I won't serve my family white bread but I couldn't get my kids to eat any multi-grain breads from scratch until this recipe! They like it so much that now I have to ration it so it doesn't disappear within minutes. They eat it with sandwiches, with butter, or plain...and they don't even ask me to cut the crust off!!! The combination of ingredients is perfect. The taste is light. The loaf size is about 1.5 lbs and the texture is perfect for cutting into thin slices without it falling apart. I get about 12-14 slices per loaf. I do use raw milk instead of water to add a bit of protein and I use a high heat oil instead of butter, mainly because I'm too lazy to wait for it to soften. Thanks, Erna!!!!!

Super Duper Oatmeal

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2009
Definitely a great blend of flavors and great texture, but, like others said, a bit bland. I tripled the recipe for my family of five and added 1 1/2 teaspoons salt and about a teaspoon of Stevita brand stevia. In the end, it was probably 1/4 teaspoon too much of both the salt and the Stevita. I will most certainly make it again, but add butter for a richer flavor.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2010
The first time I made this recipe I didn't plan on icing as I like fudgy brownies without icing. They came out tasting like stale cake, but figured it was my error since it has such raving reviews. I read through the reviews and made a second attempt, this time making sure I didn't over mix them. They turned out exactly the same. I thought if I added the icing it might save this batch, but the icing recipe is too thick and brittle to even spread. Literally, I could tap the top of it with a knife and it would make a "clacking" sound. I tried, I really did. I gave it a second chance...but I won't make these again.
