Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Excellent! Just what I was looking for in a cookie. Wonderful flavor, moist and chewy. I actually didn't strictly follow the recipe. I didn't have the coco powder so I omitted it, but I did use everything else exactly as the recipe stated. In case others want to know, I used this recipe to make cookie bars, instead of individual cookies and it came out great! I just put all the batter into a 9x13 pan and cooked for 3o minutes. It did come out a tiny bit undercooked, but I actually like it that way so I'm not complaining. :)

Chocolate Mint Brownies

I have no clue what I did wrong. I followed the recipe exactly, and these are the strangest brownies I've ever had. The taste is okay, but the texture was that of a sponge. I've never seen that before, and it was very strange eating it. I expect my brownies to be dense, and moist. I don't know if that is normal for this recipe or not. I was really surprised due to all the good reviews. Anyway, I'm giving it three stars, but only because the taste is decent. Oh and another thing, the cooking time was way off. I cooked per the recipe for 25 minutes, when I took it out of the oven, I almost spilled the contents, because it was like a swimming pool of chocolate. Nothing cooked at all! I had to cook for another 30 minutes, and then it was fine. I don't think I'll try this recipe again.

Pasta Primavera with Italian Turkey Sausage

This was very good!! I am surprised, because it didn't seem like there would be much flavor, but boy was I wrong! The only changes I made were that I used crushed tomatoes because I didn't have fresh, changed the noodles, added mushrooms, and a splash of non fat milk to make the sauce sort of creamy. Excellent!

Easy Beef Stroganoff

This was very good. I actually followed the recipe changes that colleen posted in her review and it came out great! Hubby says it's the best stroganoff he's ever tasted. I gave it 4 stars only because I felt it could use a tiny bit more flavor. I made some changes also, I sliced some beef in thin strips fajita style, I then added salt/pepper/garlic powder and a little red wine to the beef, dredged it in flour and then browned it. Put the beef on a plate then sauted onions, and garlic in 2 tablespoons butter. I then added the beef to the mix and put in 1 and 3/4 cup beef broth and 1/4 cup red wine, 1 cup sour cream and instead of the second cup of sour cream at the end I added 1 can cream of mushroom soup. Let it cook for 20 minutes and that was almost too long, the beef was a little tough. It came out a little runny for my taste so I added about 1 1/2 tablespoons flour and that did the trick. I will be using this recipe again for sure!

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Yum, yum and yum!!! This was great! Hubby loved it too! The only change I made was to the cheese. I put in one cup of sharp chedder, and one cup of horseradish chedder. Definitely added to the flavor. Since there are only two of us, we have been eating leftovers for 3 days, but neither one of us is tired of it yet! Can't wait to make this again.

Boudreaux's Zydeco Stomp Gumbo

Oh my goodness that was good!!! Just made this tonight. And it is yummy! Made a few changes based on the other reviews: I used 5 cups of broth at first but it was too thick so I added another cup, I also used butter instead of olive oil to make the roux, which may count for the extreme thickness, not sure. I didn't use chicken but added more sausage, crab and ocra. also I used a can of tomatoes instead of the roma ones. Even with all the changes it turned out great! I will definitely will make this again for sure!!
