Blackened Tuna Steaks with Mango Salsa

As IF this recipe needs another 5 star review!!! LOL! This is a fabulous recipe. The tuna marinade is what sets this apart from other fish/salsa style dishes. Most recipes never recommend a marinade for fish- a rub, yes but not a marinade. This made the difference for me and I marinated for 3 hours. For other reviewers who complained about too much of something-- use less of it?. Also, OBVIOUSLY cook the tuna the way YOU like it cooked. The chef who made mine tonight (ME) used way too much jalapeno. But heck that is my fault. This recipe ROCKS! My hubby LOVED the blackened, this WILL be my new seasoning for blackened always. I served this with a citrus scented quinoa. YUM! Thank you for this recipe.

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

LOVED the recipe. I rated it 4 stars because like other reviewers, I changed the way it was prepared. I tied with butcher twine instead of toothpicks. After I browned the chicken, I baked it in 350 oven for 30 min. Before it was done cooking in a saucepan I melted butter and added wine and bouillon, then whisked in the cornstarch/cream mixture-cooked til bubbly. I sliced the chicken,put on serving platter and poured the sauce over and garnished with parsley. Cooking as recommended would have indeed increased the amount of fat.

This recipe has potential I guess. It was very bland to me. I always exaggerate the spices whenever I first cook a recipe. (Nothing ever has enough garlic or spice etc.) Even so, it was tasteless. I will give it one more try...

Taqueria Style Tacos - Carne Asada

This is a very good recipe. Like other reviews, I thought it was salty. And by the way, they do use soy sauce in Mexico. However, I think next time I will try a little more vinegar (or water) and a little less soy. I added about 3 times as much seasoning as was called for. I used at least 12 garlic cloves. The roasted salsa was very easy to make and worth the effort. This is a definite make again.

Well, what's one more rave review? Thank you thank you thank you. This is the crust I have been looking for! YUM! The texture is PERFECT! I do agree with other reviewers who said it needs a little more flavor. I'll 'tweak' it a little by adding more salt.

Mama D's Italian Bread

YUM! I have been baking bread for a little while now. This is EXACTLY the recipe I have been looking for. It is so good. I took somebody else's advice and let it rise overnight. I did this after the second rise. In the morning I divided the dough and shaped and then let rise again before baking. Thank you thank you thank you Mama D. for this one! It will be our Italian bread favorite.

San Francisco Sourdough Bread

My starter was only 5 days old. I agreed with someone else who stated that it was a good white bread recipe. It was very heavy bread, not as light as I'd expect for San Francisco sourdough. I will try this again, hopefully it will be a little more 'sour' next time.

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

I thought this was an outstanding recipe. My husband said that he could "drink" the sauce it is so good. Like another person, I added tons more garlic. I used a head of garlic. I disagree with the other person who claimed it was not as good as other marinaras. I have made many other marinaras and this one was not only easy, it had complex flavors due to the longer simmering time. Thanks Jeremy for this recipe. I will make no other spaghetti and meatballs but yours.

Portobello Mushroom Ravioli with Prawns

Loved it! What wonderful flavors. As somebody else commented, I too put the shrimp in last 3- 4 minutes so it wouldn't be over cooked. I also took the suggestion not to use too much parmesan, but I wish I would have had a little more. It really works with this dish. Thanks for this recipe. I will definitely make this again.

Sharese's Spaghetti Salad

WOW! I just finished making this recipe. I will be lucky if it lasts overnight, or even to the party for which I made it. It is so yummy! I used 'real bacon pieces' instead of frying the bacon. And I used fresh parmesan. This will be a staple from now on at picnics and potlucks. Thank you for this recipe Kari.

Jambalaya II

Italian Herb Bread I

This bread was absolutely wonderful! I will make it on a regular basis and am anxious to try it as pizza dough. I added 2 tsp of salt as another person recommended and omitted the basil and oregano. I used extra black pepper and parmesan in place of the romano. This basic recipe I believe, can be "tweaked" to anyone's liking. Thank you Ann!

Chocolate Cavity Maker Cake

This was the first cake I ever baked. It was so YUMMY I am encouraged to bake some more. I, too, used Kahlua and I topped it off with a basic raspberry sauce. Thanks Caitlin for this one, it will be a standard at my house for special desserts!

Flank Steak with Garlic Wine Sauce

This recipe was pretty good. The sauce really lacked substance. It needed something else, despite the fact that I used a very good red wine. Perhaps beef boulion would help. All in all I will probably try this recipe again.

Caesar Salad Supreme

German Leek and Potato Soup
