I started cooking out of necessity when I was 14, because my parents were divorced and Mom worked. So, to help her out, I did all the meal planning and preparation. Made my first quiche lorraine, including crust at 14. Since then, cooking has become a passion. If I could quit my job and go to culinary school full-time, I would do it in a heartbeat. But that ship may have sailed... so for now I would really like to take a program to learn how to do the mother sauces. I keep wondering how I can turn this passion into a revenue stream....
My favorite things to cook
Mediterranean and Asian inspired soups and fish entrees. Love anything with eggs, cheese and cream all baked together.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love preparing all the major holiday meals, especially my favorite holiday meal, the Passover Seder. Watching everyone delight in my food at the holidays makes me feel warm and fuzzy all over.
My cooking triumphs
I single handedly prepared (not served) a Seder feast that fed 33 people in my home. I spent 2.5 straight days doing prep.
