This soup is SOO GOOD. I did however add a can each of, black eyed peas, white beans, red beans, and lima beans. I used canned carrot (2c). # med. sized onions and omited the celery and pepper because those are nasty (in my opinion). I also added 3c. barley to it but had to also add more water. How much? A BUNCH. It made so much soup that I had to make 4 trips to the fridge just to put it away. It was soooo good though. OH also, I used 1 small green cabbabe and 1 small red cabbage. GREAT GREAT GREAT. The only seasoning it needed was pepper. I also added some crushed red pepper. Made it with low sodium v8 and low sodium beef broth. Also used 2c. diced tomatoes...If you do add beans like I did, don't forget to rince them off.
