Fabulous Homemade Bread

Reviewed: May 17, 2008
If there were six stars, I'd gladly give them to you! This bread recipe if fantastic! The best I've tried so far. The only substitution I made was switching some of the white flour for more whole wheat. Still amazing. I'd recommend this recipe to anyone. Even my kids like it! Thanks so much for sharing this recipe with us! Definitely a keeper!

Classic Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: May 16, 2008
Used whole wheat and white bread flour. Had great loft and texture. Not too dense. Ppl really need to be careful with the amount of flour they put in the mix when they make it. Just because a recipe calls for three cups, doesn't mean you will need to put all three in.... A lot depends on the quality/type of ingredients you are using and how dense you like your bread... Often times, a dense bread is simply a product of adding too much flour. Anyway, took me a while to figure that out so thought I'd pass that nugget of info on to others who may not know.... take it or leave it. As for this recipe.... the taste was BLAND! I followed the ingredient list and did not add/substitute anything - even though I had read the reviews. So piece of advice, unless you like really bland bread you might want to add the recommended couple tablespoons of honey or subbing the white sugar for brown.

Stuffed Peppers

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2007
I just made this recipe (modified) last night and both my hubby and I really enjoyed it. I used two small onions (chopped) and 4 garlic cloves (minced) instead of the dried onion/garlic powder. I almost tripled the W. sauce and added lots of parsley/thyme/tarragon - came out with full of flavor.... also used a veggie spag. sauce instead of the regular tomato sauce and added some bay leaves to the sauce. I pre-steamed the peppers so I only had to put the dish in the oven for about 30 minutes...nearing the end of the 30 minutes, I added parmesan cheese to the tops of the peppers and broiled away... Yummy!!! This recipe is a good starting point - but I think that if I had followed the recipe it would have ended up being a tad bland...
