Tater Tot Bake

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2006
It was really good the first time around but became really greasy when reheated. I will add veggies next time for a healthier meal.

Stuffed Zucchini

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2007
I was very disappointed with this recipe. I topped with parmesan and provolone cheeses the last 10 minutes of baking. The dish looked really nice and sounded so interesting and unique in the recipe. Alas, it was very bland and with the combination of the beef & tomato sauce..just tasted like a meat sauce for spaghetti. The flavor of the zucchini was completely lost. I have a 3 because it wasn't un-eatable..but not worth the effort to make again.

Easy Cheesy Chicken I

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2007
This tasted like food you would find in a senior citizens home. The only reason I have a 2 is because the chicken was very tender. The taste was pretty bland and ick. My husband likes just about anything but had a hard time eating this. I followed the recipe. Maybe if I had made adjustments as others...it would have been better....but when you make all those changes..isn't it a whole new recipe? I think yes..and you should rate a recipe on the actual recipe because this one's high-star-count is very misleading.

Rich and Creamy Tomato Basil Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2007
This is La Madeleine's recipe as well. It is excellent! It makes way more than 4 servings though and can be difficult to manage in such a large quantity. I always cut the recipe in half and use canned crushed tomatoes if the real ones are not in season. Good tomatoes can make the difference in a good soup.

Honey Baked Chicken II

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2007
Excellent! I took others suggestions, halfing the butter, using fancy mustard, upping the curry and adding a garlic clove. I use boneless chicken breasts and serve with chicken fried rice and fresh veggies. One of my husband's favorites!

Pretty quick and easy. Nothing fancy but perfect for a quick meal and I can see how kids would enjoy it.

Oven Fried Chicken IV

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2007
Excellent! I love the crispyness. I've made it twice. The second time I didn't get enough of the cornflake mixture so it wasn't so great so make sure to crunch up enough cornflakes.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2007
I made this for my husband and I. It was excellent! Using a springform pan and a waterbath, it didn't crack at all. We savored every last bite making it last for two weeks.

Dijon Grilled Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2007
These were EXCELLENT! I didn't have any worcestershirs, so I added 3 TBS of bbq sauce. These were the BEST pork chops and I don't really like pork that much! My sister even asked for the recipe..and she never does that because she thinks she's the cooking queen ;) Will make again and again, and again! Thanks Babette!

Saucy Chicken and Asparagus

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2007
I was really looking forward to this...and it just was not good at all. The crm of ckn soup just makes it taste like a TV dinner and the asparagus is overwhelming. Sorry...not our taste.

Refried Beans Without the Refry

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2007
I liked them with the changes I made: substituted half the water for chicken broth, put in a whole jalapeno, added 2 TBS chili powder and topped with cheese.

Came out pretty dry and hard. I prefer a softer garlic bread.

Zucchini Cornbread Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2008
Awesome with a few modifications. Sliced the squash, and salted it, then laid it out on paper towels to dry out. I used half an onion (and will probably use less next time as I'm not a big onion person), doubled the cheese and mixed in with the rest of the ingredients, added 8oz of sour cream. Baked covered at 350 for an hour, and then broiled for about 10 minutes to make it a little more crisp. Next time I will try a ritz cracker topping.

Easiest Teriyaki Marinade Ever

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2008
Followed the recipe, and it was too sweet for our taste (on chicken). I could see it on pork skewers on the grill, so we will give it another shot when summer comes around. I'm giving 4 stars, because if you like sweet, this is a good recipe.

Chicken Enchiladas V

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2008
Awesome! I only made a couple of minor changes: added one can cheddar cheese soup to the soup mixture and added a jalapeno to the chicken mix. Layered tortillas, chicken, then soup mixture for more of a casserole style. Also added a layer of refried black beans. Topped with more tortillas strips and pepper jack cheese...it is fantastic!

Blackened Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2008
Followed the recipe exactly. Didn't care for the spice combination at all. This is not anything like any Cajun style blackened chicken I've ever had - and that's what I expect when I think of blackened chicken. The spices are all wrong. I am giving three stars - because the cooking method is great - and the chicken came out very moist. I took one reviewer's suggestion and let it 'sit' for 10 minutes - so we were able to scrape off the spices and enjoy plain juicy chicken.

Chicken Alfredo Pizza

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2008
Great with a few changes: I tried the sauce on Round I - and thought it came out terrible. Maybe have been the cheese I was using - but I won't be trying it again regardless. Used "Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce" from this site - and it is fantasitc. I cut the sauce recipe in half so I don't have so much leftover. Used a frozen pizza dough ball - thawed in the fridge - and also incorporated spinach. We LOVE this pizza. It is better than any gourmet alfredo pizza I've had. The seasoning for the chicken is great - and I like the addition of the garlic butter.
