Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2007
I made quite a few modifications to this recipe, as did many other reviewers and my family LOVED it!!! I sauteed cubed chicken in olive oil with a small amount of seasoning then removed from pan. Made a sauce using butter, added some shredded carrots & sauteed a little, 1/2 pkt italian dressing mix, cream of mushroom soup, 1/2 c chicken broth & plain cream cheese. Stired till all smooth & warm, then added chicken back in and simmered covered for around 10 min until chicken was cooked thru. Then I boiled some fresh broccoli crowns in boiling water for a few minutes (my familyl likes mushy broccoli and my kids eat their veggies better if they are really cooked and hidden in the food!), then cooked the angel hair pasta about 4 min till al-dente. Drained and tossed together with sauce. My husband loved it and my 2 picky toddlers inhaled it! Will make this again and again! Thanks for sharing this recipe and thanks to all the other reviewers for sharing their modifications.

Butter Icing for Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2006
Perfect icing paired with The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies recipe I found on this site. The icing was super easy to make and easy to spread on our cookies. (I didn't bother with piping and making designs etc...not with 2 toddlers wanting to help and I am NOT a patient person...I just wanted the cookies frosted!) Had to use food coloring with this icing since it did not turn out white (had a slight off white appearance, probably due to the vanilla). Like others have said, the icing hardens on the top so the cookies could be stacked, yet soft once you bite into them. Very yummy combo with the cookie recipe I used. My family ate EVERY LAST cookie!!!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2006
I haven't made rolled sugar cookies since I was a child with my mother. She had the BEST sugar cookie recipe from an old cookbook she received as a wedding gift...unfortunately the recipe book has gone missing. So I found this site while searching for an excellent SOFT rolled sugar cookie. After reading all the rave reviews on this recipe, I decided to give this one a try. Like another reviewer, I added an additional cup of sugar and an additional tsp of vanilla. Let me tell you, these cookies were a HIT!!!!! They are so good. Nice and soft, thick and fluffy and nice and sweet. They rolled easily, baked perfectly and my family ate every last one of them. These will be made at every holiday from now on! My 4 yr old daughter and 3 yr old son and my husband had a wonderful time making these cookies with me. This has become a new tradition in our household. Oh, I also paired the cookies with a frosting recipe found here.. Butter-Icing-for-Cookies.Very good icing...hardens on the top so you can stack the cookies yet still soft when you take a bite. Although the icing does not turn out white (from the vanilla) so it is best to use food coloring along with it. But quick and easy to make and tasted yummy with these cookies! I am NOT a baker (I prefer to cook dinners etc) but I had no challenges with this cookie recipe and with the icing recipe. YUM, YUM, YUM!!!
