About this Cook
Some things I've done in my life: dug for diamonds in Arkansas, went to the 2005 Country Music Awards, swam through an underground river in Mexico, roamed the desert solo, spent 4hrs spelunking through the 4th longest cave in the world, rope climbed up a waterfall in the middle of the rainforest, jumped out of a plane like a mad person, white water rafted the Kennebec river and survived the rapids, learned how to surf on Cape Code, jumped around like a hamster in the eurobubble, ate escargot, snorkeled at Biscayne National Park, learned to fly a plane, becane a wedding officiant as an ordained minister, went bungee jumping, learned to fence, snorkeled in 2 degrees Celsius in Iceland, held & ate a piece of a glacier, attended the 2012 Summer Olympics, tried whale, puffin, zebra, springbok, frog legs, and conch, drove on the left side of the road, went parasailing, made my own perfume, went shark diving, tried scorpion, rode an elephant, gave a monkey a beer, and been caged with Tigers.
My favorite things to cook
I love potatoes! I make them really good roasted and mashed! Any opportunity I get to make them, I will! My shepard's pie is apparently to die for! It's the most requested food at my parties! And, I'm currently obsessed with eating/making chicken stir-fry (with beansprouts, yellow peppers, red peppers, green peppers, and some sort of hot pepper)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Anytime the holidays come around! You never realize how much you enjoyed it until your parents stop doing one! My parents don't do Easter dinner anymore because it's a "kids" holiday!
My cooking triumphs
Easter dinner in 2010!! My first time!
My cooking tragedies
In high school, I couldn't make homemade cookies! I don't know what I did but it was an epic fail!

Easy Guacamole
Followed the recipe exactly and tried it. I love it as is! My boyfriend on the other hand wanted an additional lime! Then, he was happy with the recipe! I wouldn't change a thing and he would just add an extra lime! All in all, GREAT RECIPE!

Savory Mango Guacamole
Made this as it was written and it's good but I felt as though it's too salty. I'm going to the store today to buy another mango to hopefully even out the saltiness! It's still pretty good overall and would definitely make this again (just with less salt)!

Habanero Salsa
I made this exactly as the recipe said except I forgot to chop up one of the onions (but either way the onion I put in was rather large so it was probably about the same as 2 small/medium onions), only used 5 cans of tomatoes as someone else suggested, and I used 2 habaneros. This was excellent! My boyfriend LOVES hot salsa and is very particular about his salsa and he thought this was a very good alternative to the store bought Pace salsa (the only brand he likes). He also doesn't like chunky salsa so this was perfect!
