I've just moved in with my long-term boyfriend, so I'm slowly learning how to cook fast and healthy things. I go to university, studying to do my Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree so I don't always have a lot of time to devote to cooking. I'm a vegetarian, and my boyfriend isn't, so this often poses a problem because I want us both to be pleased.
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking with meat substitutes (ie, veggie ground round, tofu etc.) and pasta becase it's easy and quick. Stir-fry is something I often opt to cook because of how little time and effort it takes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite memory of cooking traditions is making home-made mini sausage rolls with my Mom, aunt, sisters, and cousin at Christmas time. They're a great snack to nibble on at Christmas parties.
My cooking triumphs
I cooked a vegetarian lasagna for my mother-in-law to be, and she liked it! (My boyfriend's family thinks it's a bit odd to be vegetarian!)
My cooking tragedies
I was making cornmeal muffins, and forgot about them baking in the oven... they were burnt about half-way through. And for some reason, I have a tendancy to burn garlic and onions.
